Loudon County Tennesse is called the Lakeway to the Smokies and is bordered by Knox County, Blount County, Monroe County, McMinn County and Roane County. Ft. Loudon Lake, Tellico Lake, and Watts Bar Lake as well as the Tennessee and Clinch Rivers can be accessed from Loudon County. I-75, State Highways 72, 11, and 70 are main access roads. The 2010 census reports the population as 48,556. Incorporated cities in Loudon County are Greenback, Loudon, Lenoir City and Philadelphia.

Water recreation abounds with the ability to access one lake from another through locks at Ft. Loudon Dam and Melton Hill. There are public access lake ramps through-out the county.
