I thought it would be interesting for those living outside of Memphis (and maybe some who live in the suburbs, but don't get into the City much) to get a taste of some of Memphis' interesting neighborhoods.
I am calling these "Windshield Tours" because I am shooting them as I drive through the neighborhoods. These won't be travel logs, or cinematic masterpieces, just quick overviews
Please pardon the errors in this first tour. I wanted to be as spontaneous as possible.
If you have any suggestions for other neighborhoods, leave a comment, or contact me at joespake@gmail.com

I have 5 nice Midtown Memphis listings that I would love to sell before the end of the year. Since I create a website for each property I list which provides pictures, tour, specific info and neighborhood and census data. Here are the URLs:
http://1990manila.com - Convenient Cooper-Young Location-good price
http://268avalon.com - Total rehab- nice floor plan - great kitchen
http://1911mignon.com - 3BR-2Ba Classic Bungalow near Rhodes College
http://1603vance.com - Charming home on great Central Gardens block
http://1887york.com - Artist's home in Central Gardens - lots of studio space and very cool screen porch
Please contact me (901-870-3440) if you would like to see any of these in person

I couldn't resist sharing the interesting window and interior door casings is a 1928 English-influenced bungalow in the Vollintine-Evergreen section of Midtown Memphis. The Midtown Section of Memphis is a treasure of bungalows buillt between 1920 and 1930, in a variety of styles.
Most of the original red gum casings and moldings have long been painted over, so it is a real treat to find the beautiful, smooth-grained original wood. I have never seen this type of casing corners, though.(also not the dainty picture rail running all the way to the window on the right.
Also, although painted, this closet door follows the same theme. This reminded me of art deco laden interior scenary from the movies of the 1930s.
