Nashville Area News Just Keeps Getting Better both in jobs and housing. One would argue that the two are directly related and would be correct. But in two unrelated stories out today The Tennessean announced that with the ratification of a new labor agreement between GM and the UAW vehicles may roll off the idled Spring Hill assembly line. The old Saturn facility now producing Chevy engines may soon also be assembling the Chevy Equinox SUV, Estimates of up to 2000 new and furloughed workers may soon be working again in Spring Hill Tennessee. This will be a boon to the Spring Hill economy and pick up the housing market in that area.

Also noteworthy in today's news are expansion plans for Downtown Nashville's Gulch Community. The 2008 recession once stalled the growth in this lifestyle community but now plans to expand have been announced. Restaurants, offices, shops, high rise and mid rise condos already present in this urban neighborhood will be seeing new additions to the area. Three new apartment buildings are scheduled to begin as soon as next year and all within the next year and a half.

The good news is you don't have to wait for the new construction to be completed. There are still a few units available in The Icon, Velocity and Terrazzo. Sorry but Mercury View Lofts and Laurel House are 100% occupied.

So don't blame a fellow for being optimistic with new jobs and huge housing projects on the way, things are perking up here in the Nashville Area.
