Newbern, TN

This morning I met a friend at McDonalds who told me he just applied for a job at Eaton Corporation in Newbern,Tn. Newbern is about 8 miles north of Dyersburg and one of the companies I have been blogging about with jobs.

This morning I wrote a post on my outside blog about the availability of these jobs. My contact there at Eaton has been hiring people who I have been referring to him and this morning he told me to keep them coming.

There have been so many unemployed people in the Dyersburg area(mainly to a recent plant closing) and this should start to reduce the unemployment rate.

My friend this morning has been out of work for 2 years now and really needs to work. I predict Eaton will hire him because he has lots of factory experience and a good work record. There are more jobs there so go to Eatonjobs to get started in the hiring process.

Newbern's Crowne Pointe Subdivision (real name is Crowne Point Estates) was started in 1998 by John and Bill Parks. For the first couple of years they struggled getting builders to buy and build on their lots.

Today is a different story! Crowne Point is the premiere subdivision in Newbern where homes are not only holding their value in todays market but are continuing to go up in value.

A week ago I carried a client(who works at Eaton 2 miles from Crowne Pointe) to this neighborhood since it was in his price range and close to work. We set up and looked at 6 houses either in this subdivision or touching the subdivision. After every house he told me I am one for one, two for two, and bottom line he liked all 6.

One of my agents closed the sale(one week ago) on a house on Crowne Pointe Drive for $227,000.

My friend Mr. Cooper at Dyersburg Realty just listed a 4 bedroom 2 bath foreclosure located at 1500 Red Bell Road in Newbern,Tn 38059.

This foreclosure belonged to an acquaintance of mine who left a job for another job and got laid off. He had a conforming loan on this house and these are what we are seeing being foreclosed on now. I believe the non comforming B-paper foreclosures have run their course and now just the "A" paper is defaulting.

The last owner paid $159,000 for this house in October of 2002. The county has it valued at $148,900. Before losing this house the owner had it listed for $184,900 and reduced it to $179,900. He was overpriced to start with and just rode the recession down until he bailed.

Pine Hill Subdivision or more formally called Pine Hill Estates is a mid range priced subdivision in Newbern,Tn only about 8 miles northeast of Dyersburg Tennessee.

This is a beautiful fairly new subdivision where house values range from $100,000 up to $165,000.

Carousel Realty just closed the sale on a home at 900 Sugar Pine for a purchase price of $127,000. This is a 3 bedroom 2 bath home, 1406' heated and cooled area with a two car garage built in 1998. That picture is up above.
