About Addison's Midway Meadows

Due to the threat of inclement weather, the Midway Meadows National Night Out has been postponed. Originally scheduled for Tuesday evening, October 13th, 2009, the new date is the following week: Tuesday, October 20th.

National Night Out brings neighorhoods together to fight crime and increase communiity awareness through police-community partnerships. It is celebrating its 26th anniversary this year.

In conjunction with National Night Out, the Midway Meadows subdivision in Addison Texas is having a neighborhood get-together at Dome Park (corner of Dome and Sherlock) from 6:30-7:30 pm. Come meet your neighbors, visit with the police and fire fighters, and enjoy cookies and camaraderie.

MARKET UPDATE: Addison's Midway Meadows Subdivision, Duplex Homes 1/1/09 - 6/30/09

(The single homes in Midway Meadows are not included in this update.)

There is currently only 1 half-duplex on the market, priced at $219,500. There were 3 sales in the neighborhood in the first 6 months of 2009, with $99.68 being the average price per sq. ft. (down from $100.95 for the prior 6 month period). Homes sold from a low of $175,000 to a high of $208,750. The highest sale was at $114.51/sq. ft. (up from $100.95/sq. ft. in the prior 6 month period). Higher priced sales typically reflect updated homes.

There are currently 3 homes on the market, ranging from $210,000 to $315,000. There were 4 sales in the neighborhood in the first 6 months of 2009, with $114.32 being the average price per sq. ft. (down from $122.26 for the prior 6 month period). Homes sold from a low of $188,000 to a high of $212,000. The highest sale was at $130.76/sq. ft. (down from $137.30/sq. ft. in the prior 6 month period). Higher priced sales typically reflect updated homes.

On Sunday, approximately 200 residents of the Midway Meadows subdivision in Addison Texas met at Dome Park for a block party and a good time was had by all!

Neighbors Jane and Francesco Secchi, owners of Ferrari's Italian Villa restaurant on Midway Road between Spring Valley and Beltline, graciously provided the food and drink. The Cover Ups (formerly the Daddy-Os) kept us musically entertained.

Addison police, fire, and EMS attended. The K-9 unit was there and we had a demonstration of our police dog's abilities. The Mayor and current council members were invited guests. And our City Manager and neighbor participated.
