The New Legislation that abolished the TRCC is beginning to take affect. ______________________________________________________________________________________________

Licenses will be required from Homebuilders from the TDLR. Test will have to be taken, and Homebuilders will now have to show proof of insurability.

You could very well wonder: How in the world was it that the State of Texas had no requirement for Homebuilders to be licensed in the first place?!

The poor construction and shoddy work should have been discovered by someone other than the founding members of the HOMEOWNERS OF TEXAS (HOT).

This was the non-profit organization founded by Tom Archer that went to the Legislators and laid all the details on the table, pushed for change and managed to pull it off successfully.

Although this is not to say that all Homebuilders put out unqualified work, the ones that do make the entire industry look completely unprofessional here in the State of Texas.
