Charitable Gift Giving: A Holiday Gift that Can Change a Life!

Charitable Gift Giving:
A Holiday Gift that Can Change a Life!

Every year as December draws close, many begin to look for ways to give back to the communities in which they live. There are many great charitable organizations that need support, either as a Volunteer or through Financial gifts.
This year I've personally supported three organizations that have special meaning to me and one that has special meaning to a few clients. If you're still looking for a great gift idea, then consider donating to one of the many local charitable organizations "In Honor of" and enclose a note with your donation to the honoree indicating your donation in their name or a gift "In Memory of" to celebrate the life of another. It's a great way to give a gift that reaches beyond a day and may positively affect other people's lives.

Here in Austin, I and Austin Market-Ready Services, support:

The Austin Children's Shelter
They are celebrating “The Twelve Days of Christmas” by promoting their Twelve Days of Joy! Every day there is a new presentation of how your donation will benefit the children in their care. You may also make a Tribute donation “In Honor Of” or “In Memory Of”. Their Project Santa gives you the opportunity to share a gift with a child.

Austin Pets Alive!
As a Foster Volunteer, the rewards of caring for a foster pet are many and I've adopted one of my fosters, Freckles. If you care about animals, consider their Foster A Lonely Pet for the Holidays, make a Donation, or even consider giving a gift from their Wish List of items needed.

AIDS Services Austin
AIDS Services of Austin responds to the HIV needs of the Austin area by providing services that enhance the health and well-being of individuals. Donating to ASA is a good way to give a gift that helps someone with a need. $30 donation can buy a Bus pass for one person for 2 months.
And recently supported the fundraising efforts of some of my clients when they participated in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure.

What gift are you giving this year to help give back to the
community and honor your friends, family, and clients?
Not sure what organization to give to, search JustGive,
a charitable search and donation site.

Great Gift Idea, that also Gives to Others:

If you're looking to give a gift, you might

also consider a Gift Certificate from Better World Books.

Each purchase also helps support Literacy projects around the globe,

not to mention you can get some great deals on books.

Large Number of New Homes Scheduled to be Built in Lake Travis

11-29-11
Shane White
Shane White: Real Estate Agent in Liberty Hill, TX

If you are in the market for a new home, Lake Travis may be the place for you. Over the next 30 days, a development team will be hiring seven homebuilders, led by project developer Wheelock Street Capital LLC from Greenwich, Connecticut, to develop the 1,400-acre site. At this time there are 15 homebuilders who are hoping to be among the lucky seven chosen to help develop the Sweetwater community in Western Travis County. The community is expected to take several years to complete, which will mean steady work for these homebuilders for the next few years.New Home

The community is anticipated to have 1,800 homes by the time it is complete. Wheelock Street Capital LLC paid $34 million for the parcel of land when the bought it while it was in foreclosure a year ago. The price they paid was about $20 million less than the prior owner had paid for it.

The Sweetwater community is along Texas 71 near Bee Creek Road. The development of the community was put on hold when the previous developer defaulted on the loan. The new jobs this will create for the community is a welcome sign for Travis County.

If a new home is in your future, contact the Shane T. White Team if you are looking to buy or sell your home. Discover what it is like to work with a team with a real passion for real estate.
