Located on Clear Lakes southeastern shore, Clear Lake Shores is an island community and most of the homes come equipped with boat slips. Clear Lake Shores is a city in Galveston County, Texas within the Houston Sugar Land Baytown metropolitan area. Clear Lake Shores is regarded as "The Yachting Capital of Texas" as the City has more boat slips than people.

During the oil boom years of the 1920s developers began to sell properties around Clear Lake as waterfront recreational retreats. The new development was named "Clear Lake Shores." Though initially successful the Great Depression halted most of the areas growth.

After World War II, the area began to redevelop with increasing numbers of permanent residents (as opposed to simply weekend residents). The town incorporated in 1962 and has since continued to be primarily a residential with a small, tourism-focused business community.

Clear Lake Shores is located near the amazing Kemah Boardwalk. EVERY SATURDAY it is worth your while to get up early and head over to Clear Lake Shores, Texas. Inside the tents set up at 1020 Marina Bay Drive (aka FM 2094), near FM 146/Kemah, you can find fresh, locally grown produce and other local products, foods and services. This farmer's market happens rain or shine, 8 am to 12 noon, year-round.

Available items include jams and preserves, nuts, wines, specialty cookies and other baked goods, crepes on-demand, grass-fed beef/meat, shrimp tacos, olive oil, fresh flowers, organic baby food, indian food, and many other wholesome and delicious items.

There is a knife and tool sharpening service that will fix your implements on-site. Sharp scissors and pruners make chores and yard work a breeze.

Several non-profit organizations are also present including Second Chance Pets.

Come on down, this a fun crowd to be a part of and you can talk to the growers, gardeners and producers one-on-one about their products.

I passed this little outdoor market the other day not too far from Kemah, they have fresh produce and other products and are open the first and third Saturday each month. The tents will be set up next to Skiippers on 1020 Marina Bay Drive. Your can check it out and walk around from 8am until noon.
