KidsPlace in Corpus Christi is located in Cole Park and is getting renovated after being utilized by children for 20 years. The playground was built in 1991 through the efforts of the Junior League of Corpus Christi.

The renovations to KidsPlace include installing rubber matting, six slides, three swing sets, and a rock climbing and physical fitness section. The renovated KidsPlace should be able to serve 400 children at a time; the current playground is able to serve around 300 children.

The improved KidsPlace will also meet Americans with Disabilities Act standards allowing children with disabilities to be able to utilize the new and improved playground.

The renovation for KidsPlace was approved by voters in 2008 and expected to cost approximately $400,000. The last day of operation for KidsPlace will be March 26^th with construction planned to begin the following month with completion set for April 2012.

Corpus Christi Skate Park is located at 1526 Ocean Drive in Cole Park next to the Amphitheater and is a popular attraction which serves both skateboard beginners as well as expert skateboarders. You will find both locals and visitors at Corpus Christi Skate Park.

The Junior League of Corpus Christi began fundraising efforts for the Corpus Christi Skate Park in 2002. The League oversaw the design and construction of the skate park which began in 2005. The skate park was officially opened on February 17, 2007.

Corpus Christi Skate Park cost $300,000 to build and is 10,000 square feet of concrete fun for skateboarders of all ages. Corpus Christi Skate Park offers free admission and is open to the public from 9 a.m. to dark.
