The hummingbird moths are back in my garden - and in someone else's

Robin Rogers, CRS: fun and professional real estate agent and investment adviser: Real Estate Brokerage in San Antonio, TX

Ever since I got back from my cruise to Hawaii, I have been busybusybusy. That is my excuse for taking so long to post more photos from my trip. But first, the news flash: the hummingbird moths are back! They have been visiting the lantana blossoms in the evening, making it tough for me to get a sharp photo of them in low-light conditions. I did my best:

hummingbird moth again

Now, here's the cool thing. A couple of days after I took these pictures, I got an e-mail from Sandra, who lives on the southern coast of South Africa. She was visited by a hummingbird moth in her garden one evening, and found one on her veranda the next morning. Apparently, it was attracted to the "love palm" blooming in front of her house.

Hummingbird moths are also known as hawk moths, but I think the first name is more descriptive of the way they hover over the flowers as they sip nectar. Thanks, Sandra!

Houses are still selling, are you still selling?

Frank Bailey, ABR, GRI: Real Estate Agent in Schertz, TX

We all hear, this a "buyers market" but guess what? Without sellers we won't have a buyer's market. A lot of people are scared to sell their homes because of all the "foreclosures" swarming the market places. At the end of the day, consumers still need to sell and relocate. Your home will still sell, just not at the price you would have gotten a few years back. The remedy is, consult a Realtor, groom your house for the market, and price it right. Now is the time to take advantage of a buyer's market.

What you don't get now, you will get later. Patience is a virtue. A buyer's market means, you sell at what you can, and move up to a great deal. As a seller a loss is really a win. Yes, you won't receive the thousands your neighbor did when they sold, but, you won't pay the thousands for your move up home, your move down home, that your neighbors did.

Houses are taking longer to sell because you are not doing your homework. Trust in the advise of your Realtor and they will sell your home.

I have a listing that has 20 showings in 45 days following my advise, and a contract is in the works. It's my job to find you "qualified" buyers, and with your help, I can do that.

Just my two cents, from your San Antonio Realtor!

Why NOW is the time to buy!

Jeanine Claus: Real Estate Sales Person in Schertz, TX

All that we hear every day is how bad the economy and the housing market is. This is true but there are some positives out there that we must look at. The housing market is by far a buyer's market right now. What does that mean for the public. NOW is a great time to buy a home. There are lots of homes out there to choose from. The biggest plus is that interest rates are LOW. If you can qualify for a loan why wouldn't you want to buy? Here is my thought. If you look back on history...interest rates have been low before but what happens after the economy recovers? The interest rates will go back up. It is a fact, interest rates WILL go back up. If your a first time homebuyer, you even have the $8000 tax credit on your side. If you are even considering making a purchase this year, give The Claus Team a call and let us help you make the right choice.
