Lake Granbury Farmers MarketThose of us that love fresh produce and who among doesn't? will be glad to learn that a Farmer's Market is coming to Lake Granbury and will be located in the parking lot of the new HEB on the eastern side of the city. The Granbury City County approved a Specific Use Permit to allow a farmer's market on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between May 1 and August 31 for the next three years. This will allow area growers to bring their freshly picked produce to a central area and sell it to consumers every weekend of the summer.

The Permit does not permit sale of any meat, fish, eggs, refrigerated dairy products or home canned oLake Granbury Farmers Market1r packaged items to be sold. The fresh produce that will be available for sale will be uncut so there will be no health concerns for the consumer. The local HEB will provide plenty of parking for customers of the market and they will also provide the booths for the farmers to display their goods. This is such a wonderful opportunity for our area growers to make extra income selling their produce and also introduce the community to all the different growers that will be offering produce for sale. It looks like a good eating summer is ahead for the residents of Hood County and we can thank HEB for making it possible.

General Granbury Birthday CelebrationAll of us in Granbury are excited that spring is around the corner and March is springing out with a couple of fun celebrations on the historic square of Lake Granbury Tx" where Texas history lives" during this month. On Friday March 2, 2012, we will celebrate TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY with fun activities beginning at 5:00 PM at Granbury Square Plaza at the corner of Crockett St. and Pearl Street. There will be lots of live music, living history presentations, fun, food, and a street dance to wind up the evening. All of these activities are sponsored by the Historic Granbury Merchants Association.

Master of Ceremonies will be General Sam Houston portrayed by Boots Hubbard with appearances by David Crockett (Rich Merrill) and Col. William B. Travis (Cullen Crisp). The Great,Great,Great,Grandson of David Crockett Mr Ken Hendricks will also be presented during the evening along with the Davy Crockett Chapter of the Sons of the Republic of Texas represented by Mr. James Veale.

Also during March is the hugely anticipated festival celebrating General Granbury's Birthday will will be held on the historic square March 16-17, 2012. General Granbury’s Birthday Celebration is celebrated each year with a birthday cake and ice cream in honor of the General. The General’s Annual Bean, Rib and Brisket Cook-off is a huge part of the celebration with contestants from the local area and visiting teams alike. I know you are inundated with data these days but it is time for my MARKET REPORT FOR LAKE GRANBURY SINGLE FAMILY HOMES FOR 2011. It is time for a Lake Granbury Waterfront Homes Market Report 2011 and a little perspective on the real estate transactions of 2011 with regard to waterfront properties in Granbury, Tx. It is always good to look back over the year just past and see what has transpired and draw some conclusions about our waterfront market and where it is headed. Hood County Texas Real Estate Sales were down 16% in December 2011

Hood County Texas Real Estate Sales were down 16% in December 2011 over the same month last year with 43 homes selling this month! For the 2011 year to date, overall home sales were at 717 homes sold, a -1% change from last year. Hood County Texas Real Estate total dollar volume of homes sold this month was $7,086,916 which is a -32% change from this month last year. For the 2011 year to date, the total dollar sales were at $137,683,359, which is a 2% change.
