There is one day left to take advantage of the Texas Tax Free Weekend. Most clothing and footwear priced under $100 is included in the tax exemption, along with some school supplies. A comprehensive list is available on the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts Website.
Many stores at NorthPark Center have sweetened the pie this weekend by advertising weekend sales. Shoppers can take advantage of lower prices and the tax exemption.
While at NorthPark Center, take time out from shopping, at 4:00 pm on Sunday, August 21, to watch as the winning names are drawn for the creative CASA Playhouses!

Okay, set your school supply list aside and get to NorthPark Center Thursday, August 18 for the long awaited opening of the new H & M Store at NorthPark Center! It will be the place to be! Well known for their fashion forward styles, this trendy store prices their women's and men's clothing to sell!
H & M is located on the north side of the Center, between Nordstrom's and Macy's. You can enter the store from Level One or Level Two.
If you visited the H & M store near Dillards last fall, you may have seen the video loop that showed the Chicago store opening. If you watched that video and you are reading this post now, you know that you need to wake up early, play hooky from work, and head for NorthPark Center. The store opens at 12:00 noon!
See you there!

If you have missed the opportunity to attend the Dallas International Fim Festival this week, Sunday, April 10 is your last chance! Fifteen films will be shown in three theaters. For further information contact Dallas Film.
Today, I saw the inspirational documentary film, The Interrupters, directed by Steve James. The film follows three courageous, caring and passionate mediators, as they work to protect inner city Chicago neighborhoods from gang violence. The Interrupters, who engaged in violence in their past, are successful in making connections with gang members, as they have a deep personal understanding of the violent culture of the neighborhoods. This film is filled with messages for the viewer. Both the Interrupters, and the people they touch, grow through their experiences. The film's epilogue provides viewers with an update on the gang members whose live were changed forever by the Interrupters. It is my hope that this film will be widely released and that people around the world will benefit from its messages.

What an opportunity to live south of LBJ Freeway! Midway Hills is bordered by Forest Lane on the north, Walnut Hill on the south, Midway Road on the east and Marsh Lane on the west. Buyers should be aware that there are a few streets within these boundaries that are not included in the Midway Hills subdivision. The eastern portion of the subdivision, mainly north of Royal Lane, includes the Disney Streets which continue to increase in popularity.
There are currently 19 homes for sale in the Midway Hills Subdivision in Dallas. Properties, on beautiful tree lined streets, are priced from $269,000 to $989,000. The homes range in size from 1505 and 4903 square feet. Many of the lots are .36 acre and larger. The neighborhood architecture is diverse: contemporary to traditional; original to new construction; one and two story homes.
Two properties are currently under contract and 9 properties have sold over the last six months, with an average sales price of $135.72 per square foot. The highest sale per foot was $194.51.
This is a good opportunity to purchase a home convenient to major roads, dart, private schools, shopping, Love Field and DFW!
