A mind is a terrible thing to waste. When we were looking for a home in the Polo Club at Rooster Springs, our first priority was our children's minds, and their education. Dripping Springs Independent School District fit the bill.
Currently the Dripping Springs Independent School District has 5 campuses; 3 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 1 high school. There are 4,301 students enrolled in the district which has continued to increase year over year. Additionally the district offers many extracurricular activities at all levels including competitive sports at both the high school and middle school (recent accomplishments), advanced academic programs starting in elementary schools, music opportunities including choir at all levels, and an array of community enrichment courses. Most importantly, the completion rate for the district last year was 98.1% - we think this says something about the Dripping Springs Independent School District!
What has struck us the most about Dripping Springs schools is the positive interactions we have had with parents, teachers and staff at all levels. In our opinion, the teachers are there for the right reasons, they seem to be passionate about teaching and engaging the children. We came from a school with high parental involvement and came to expect it. We have not been disappointed with the level of involvement in this district. GO DRIPPING SPRINGS TIGERS!!! -- We are big fans.

As we have learned from my last posts about the Polo Club at Rooster Springs living is gracious and easy. The same can be said of the amenities in the Polo Club. Because most of the residents moved into the Polo Club with the idea of living an easy country life the community has limited it's amenity facilities and focused on open spaces.
The Polo Club's primary amenity is simply the natural beauty of the hill country landscape. Fishing in one of the many ponds and walking or biking on the peaceful neighborhood streets are among the favorite pastimes of residents. Some residents choose the privacy offered by having their personal swimming pool, tennis courts or horse stable on their property with appropriate acreage and architectural committee approval.
Other amenities are offered on an a la carte basis. Immediately next door to the Polo Club is the separate, membership-based Polo Tennis and Fitness Club www.polotennisclub.com . The tennis club boasts 12 world class courts and regionally ranked men's and women's teams. They also offer a beautiful swimming pool, a state of the art fitness center, and social memberships. If that is not enough, on the grounds of the Polo Club are stables www.geocities.com/roosterspringsstable that offer a variety of options for horse care, boarding and lessons.
The home owner's dues do not include the use of the above services which keep them reasonable at $100.00 a month. These dues are primarily allocated by the HOA to maintain the ponds, landscaping, and roadways. Polo Club's dues are extremely reasonable when compared to similar neighborhoods, yet care the given to the open spaces is unsurpassed. We must get this question several times a week, "Is the Polo Club in Austin or Dripping Springs, Texas?" Great question and we are here to clear the mystery.... The Polo Club at Rooster Springs is conveniently located off of HWY 290 West. Polo Club residents enjoy both a town and country lifestyle. Proximity to downtown Austin for work and play is a strong draw. The Polo Club is around 7 miles southwest from the Oak Hill "Y", where HWY 71 and 290W meet, and 7 miles east of downtown Dripping Springs.
The Polo Club at Rooster Springs is neither in the City Austin nor the City of Dripping Springs. It is like the hole in a donut - in an unincorporated area of Hays County.
