Fischer Bowling, Fischer Texas: * Nine Pin Bowling...if you want to experience some of the the old German Hill Country, this is the place to do it. Many locals use it as a hang out. Yes, the kids still set pins and families still bowl in a league. The pins are arranged in a circle with the 9th pin, painted red, in the center. When our son's were younger they use be pin setters.
The bowling alley is about 100 years old and consists of four lanes. It's been said it sits on pylons and depending on rains or other weather changes, the alleys can slope just a bit one way or another. Unfortunately we haven't seen must rain this year in 2009.
Come comfortable, bring the family and enjoy Fischer TX.

I'll be writing some additional blogs on Fischer in the next few weeks. You can look for a sign from Canyon Lake Hwy 306 that will lead you to Fischer Texas.
Time to slow down when you see this sign!
