Had a few buyers/renters call me in the last few days on my property listed for sale at 3500 Caroline Court in Fort Worth 76137. Callers keep asking me about renting it. It's not for rent! One tells me I found it on Hotpads. Hotpads since removed it. Thanks to this wise consumer who flagged it as an apparent scam! One emails me and tells me "the owner" said he's no longer selling, but leasing. She found it on Zillow. The 3rd person tells me the same. The list goes on. They have all given the following information on this scammer:
Blake Gorham
London
phone 44-703-187-3780
This is the sample letter he sends to them:
From: "blake_gorham58@yahoo.com" blake_gorham58@yahoo.com
Subject: Re: Question Caroline Ct, Fort Worth, TX 76137
Good day
Just saw your mail which is showing your interest in acquiring my property for rent. First I will like to let you know the property is still much available but there are circumstances that are leading to my wanting to rent it out the property. Recently (about 2 months ago) I just got transferred to another region. my company decided to open a sub-division in London(United Kingdom - England) and I was transferred there as chief operation manager to see and make sure things start up quite well before I can be called back home, I guess the period for such stabilization might take up to 4-7 years as such I decided to sell the house at first, that was when I found an agent whom we both agreed on terms and conditions, this prompted the Realtor agent to place for sale sign on the property that was when my wife and well wishers around started calling and advising me not to sell but rather rent it out so that it can be well catered and cared for before my return. This prompted why I had to request for my keys and document from the Realtor agent and they are with me presently. I decided not to involve any agent in renting the house out as this will cost the occupant more money which I don't want as I want the occupant to understand the main aim why I am letting the house out and i feel he/she should get clue of the reason even with the amount I am willing to let it out. NOTE: THE MAIN AIM OF RENTING IT OUT IS KEEPING THE BUILDING STRUCTURE ALIVE AND IN GOOD CONDITION even you can observe it from the price I am willing to give it out, that it's far below standard renting rate. The aim is only to build a cordial understanding between myself and the renter based on the reason why I am letting it out. Definitely,I would be needing your bio data which I guess is the only thing I can use to randomly access you. I would be needing information such as:
FULL NAME:
MARITAL STATUS:
OCCUPATION:
HOME PHONE NUMBER:
MOBILE NUMBER:
CURRENT ADDRESS STATE,ZIP
REASON FOR LEAVING/WANTING TO LEAVE YOUR
PREVIOUS HOME OF RESIDENCE
PREVIOUS RENT
NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT IS TO LEAVE IN THE HOUSE
DO YOU HAVE A CAR? IF YES HOW MANY
DO YOU HAVE A PET?
WHEN DO YOU PLAN MOVING INTO A NEW HOME
and concerning wanting to view the house, you could go there and take a look at the building surrounding and neighborhood but as for the inside, you wont be able to view it as the keys for the house are here with me as at present. please note you wont be able to view the internal part of the house because the the keys are here with me... but as much as possible I will try send some internal pictures i have of my property.
Home Address:3500 Caroline Court, Fort Worth TX 76137
phone number: +44 7031873780
THANKS MR./MRS Gorham
the deposit is the same as the rent while the rent is $750
God Bless You.
Consumers, the key is in the keybox on the door and it is for sale for $150,000. It is not for rent!
Blake or whomever you are, why don't you come over. I'll be your Valentine. Me and the PD. Muah. :*

As a homeschooling mom, moving with seven of my eight children to an unknown area had an added element of wondering what kind of resources are available for homeschoolers. I didn't care about the school system. Since they don't have open enrollment in the Fort Worth and Keller Schools, that simply wasn't an issue. But I did want my kids to be able to enjoy time with other kids who were also homeschooled.
It was kind of ironic that I was able to find a job working at The Center for Home Education (formerly known as Creative Arts in Action) in Watauga off of Watauga Rd. I had never seen a resource quite like this before. They offer classes on everything from art to zoology every day of the week. Some of my kids favorite classes have been government, painting, speech, and writing. There are some students who basically take all of their classes at the Center for Home Education. Then there are some who take one of two classes. My kids each take one class there. The teachers are amazing! Since I worked there when I first moved to Fort Worth, I had an inside view of the workings. What I found were compassionate, caring people in Steve and Rosie Watson. Rosie worked there for years, never taking a salary. She did it for the love of the kids. Unfortunately Steve and Rosie had to move, but they have put in their place wonderful people to carry on with their dream and vision for helping and giving resources to the homeschool community in North Texas.
In addition to classes, they also have a bookstore (they even carry one of my books) with all the latest books and curriculum. If they don't have it, they can order it for you. You can find out more about them by visiting their website, Center for Home Education.
In Iowa the only things we had were co-ops run by the parents. They have those in the Fort Worth area too. There is one called Sunlight that meets every Wednesday. I don't participate in Sunlight because I have to work and it requires the parent be there and teach something on Wednesdays. It's a great idea though and if I wasn't a single mom I would totally do that.
There is another called Dominion Equippers, which offers classes that you can pay for, but I don't think they require the parent to participate.
In addition to these resources, there are also email groups through Yahoo that are very active. They have park days and Mom's Night Out groups in Keller, Fort Worth, Saginaw, etc.
There are many more resources available for homeschooling in Fort Worth, Texas. Feel free to call me or email me for more information about homeschooling in Fort Worth, Keller, Southlake, Colleyville, North Richland Hills and other parts of the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.

So You're Ready To Buy A Home?
You may be excited about the prospect of buying your own home in Fort Worth. Owning a home means freedom, prosperity and enough room to house your growing family. However, before you can successfully buy a home, you need to get your finances in order and secure financing. Prepare yourself in advance for purchasing your home by checking your credit and setting a budget. In today's housing market financing is the linchpin of realizing your dream of home ownership.
The first thing you should do if you want to purchase a home is order a copy of your credit report. You can order one free copy of your credit report from each credit bureau every 12 months; you can also get a free report if you've recently been turned down for credit. Once you get your credit reports, check them for inaccuracies. If you see anything on your report that is incorrect, circle it. Make a copy of the report after you highlight all inaccuracies and send it back to the credit bureau with a letter explaining why you believe the information is incorrect. You might need to provide evidence along with your correspondence such as a letter stating that an account was settled. The credit bureau must investigate your claims and change the information if they discover that it is inaccurate.
It's important to check your credit report because most lenders use your credit score to determine whether you qualify for loans or how large a loan to grant you. If your report has inaccuracies on it, your score might be lower than it should be, and you may be disqualified from loans that you should qualify for. Keep in mind, however, that the credit bureaus can only remove inaccuracies. If you have collections accounts or unpaid debts, work on repairing your credit before you start applying for home loans. We can direct you to competent credit repair companies.
Once you've gotten your credit report straightened out, your next step is to set a budget. You have to determine how much you're able to pay every month so that you can figure out what a reasonable mortgage amount would be. Don't forget to calculate the down payment, closing costs, moving expenses, utility deposits or any needed repairs to the home as well. You'll need enough money to cover these costs before you can buy a house.
Before you can buy a home, you have to get your financial situation in order. Credit is very important to the home buying process, so do your best to improve your credit before attempting to get a home loan. A FICO score of over 720 is best for rates and your chances of being successful in obtaining a loan. It's also important to consider your budget so that you don't get into financial trouble after you purchase your home.
Happy Trails,
Donnie

Why You Need A Pre-Approval Letter To Purchase Your First Home
Buying a house is a major milestone in a person's life. Many people view home ownership as proof of financial and relationship success. To ensure that you get the best deal and are able to afford a home sooner, you should get financing in place before beginning your search for your first house. Get a pre-approval letter from a lender to make it easier to purchase your home.
Getting a pre-approval letter from a lender makes it easier to get financing when you are ready to purchase a home. A pre-approval letter is a letter from a bank or mortgage company saying that you are already approved to borrow a specific amount of money. This is different from a pre-qualification letter. Pre-qualification letters simply state that you are qualified to apply for a loan of a particular amount, and that, if your financial information is accurate, you will probably be approved. When the lender verifies your information, he issues a pre-approval letter.
Your pre-approval letter helps you in several ways. First, since you already know how much money you're able to borrow, you can limit your home search to homes that are within that price range. For example, if you are pre-approved for $125,000, you won't waste time looking at homes that are $250,000 or more, unless you have another source of funds. In addition, pre-approval letters help you close the deal more easily and negotiate terms that are more in your favor. Since the seller knows you already have the financing to purchase the home, he's more likely to take negotiations seriously than if he isn't sure whether you'll even be able to close the deal. You may also find it easier to get a real estate agent to help negotiate on your behalf if you have a pre-approval letter.
Many people dream of owning their first home, but if you want that dream to become a reality, you need to get financing in place ahead of time. Getting a pre-approval letter from a lender can be stressful, especially if you get turned down by the first lender you talk to, but it can make it much easier for you to close the deal and purchase your first home.
Happy Trails,
Donnie
