There are many families forming and growing within the state of Texas, a state that has more pride than most. One of the most diverse neighborhoods in San Antonio is perhaps Hollywood Park, a complete country environment, offering a taste of the first look San Antonio donned. With a small population that only consists of approximately 3,000 people, the northern suburban neighborhood of San Antonio offers a quiet setting, great for families, professionals, retirees, and anyone else who claims a home in Hollywood Park. There is a long developing history of Hollywood Park, which was incorporated into a city December 7, 1955, providing an entire community with its own resources and services throughout.

If you are familiar with the San Antonio area of Texas, you will most likely agree that the land is breathtaking in most parts, with the city consuming you into a world of diversity and customs from many lands. With German, Czech, Spanish, Native American, and U.S. American cultures dominating San Antonio, allowing Hollywood Park to feed from the massive influences within the inner city, offering a working class neighborhood full of single family homes that average around $191,300 and offer very generous ½ to 1 acre lots, many times even bigger.

The short thirty minute drive from Hollywood Park to San Antonio’s downtown area offers the residents a great hideaway from the city extremes, with quiet streets and many families populating the several homes within the area. I recently sold a home in Hollywood Park. It is a great neighborhood with a rich history. The owner was leaving after building a home there in 1974. She raised her family there, and now she is downsizing to a small condo downtown. She said the best thing about living in Hollywood Park is that not much has changed in the last 35 years!

Hollywood Park is more than a neighborhood - it is a small town and a lifestyle. When you pull off of the crazy traffic of 281 or 1604 - you come home to a small town. They have their own police department, fire department, mayor, etc. Santa stops by at Christmastime. There is a July 4^th parade and picnic, a tamale party, and a pizza party at the pool when school starts. You will find groups of neighbors taking long walks together. There are also neighborhood clubs such as the garden club, women's club, lunch bunch, etc. The community center has a pool, tennis courts, play area and baseball field.

When you add this mix to a community with quaint homes and large lots with deer grazing at sunset - what you get is - a great place to live!
