Cinco Ranch is one of the top master planned communities in the entire Country. The amazing variety of amenities including parks, lakes, golf, tennis, basketball, boating, walking trails, nature trails, and water parks give residents the feeling that they are on vacation year round.
We do get an occasional complaint (and this could be said of the entire Houston area)...the homes all look alike. To be honest some truth lies in this statement. Traditional south Texas homes are large box-like brick homes designed to give you the most bang for the buck. Most of these home range from 3000-4000sqft and the squaredimensions are used to take advantage of somewhat smaller yard sizes. In the middle of all these traditional Texas homes in the Katy area lies the Cottage Grove section of Cinco Ranch.
For starters Cottage Grove is in the middle of everything...walk to the Exemplary Elementary School (in fact all three schools are Exemplary...a very rare triple) Williams Elementary. The Katy Family YMCA is right across the street and just up the block is Villagio...a retail, restaurant, and office complex that is loaded with upscale options. Cottage Grove is also close to The La Centerra Mall, Lifetime Fitness, the Grand Parkway, the Westpark Tollway, and just a short drive to I-10 for easy commutes to downtown or the Houston Energy Corridor.
With all this going for it, what really makes Cottage Grove special is the Cottage Series homes. They resemble New England and Florida cottage homes...right down to the beautiful front porches, plank siding exteriors, and pastel colors! The homes are smaller then the average Katy homes...from around 2000sqft up to just over 3000sqft with prices ranging from the low $200's to the low $300's If you are looking for something just a little different...but want to be in the middle of everything...this is a community you should keep your eye on!

If you have gone to the old Cinco Ranch POA building on Mason Rd just south of Westheimer Parkway you must have...at some point wondered why such a successful Master Planned Community would continue to use a temporary eye-sore trailer as it's headquarters.
Well all that is about to change. Construction is now underway on a new Cinco Associations Office at Westheimer Parkway and Windermere Park Lane right next to the Willowfork Fire Station. The Cinco Ranch Board decided to build instead of lease because of the long term savings that would benefit the home owners of Cinco Ranch. Groundbreaking was September 4th and it will take a little over six months to finish. The current POA building will be used until the new facility is available.

If you have never had lunch at the Brookwood Community, a large residential complex for those with functional disabilities...you need to take the drive to Brookshire...it is a wonderful place with great food and a large retail shop that sells gifts made by the Brookwood residents.
The Brookwood Community has just opened a retail shop in the LaCenterra Mall in Cinco Ranch. It will carry many of the same gifts sold at the community itself. We have purchased many items at the Brookshire location including candles, Christmas gifts, and beautiful flowers.
The items they sell are amazing and the proceeds go to a great cause. On your next trip to LaCenterra stop by and check out what they have at Brookwood Community Gift Shop. It is located next to Eddie Bauer. The hours of operation are 11-7 Monday-Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday.
The LaCenterra Mall is located on the corner of the Grand Parkway (Hwy 99) and Cinco Ranch Blvd in Cinco Ranch, Katy TX.
