Special Needs Children Art Blast in Katy Texas

The Easter of Seals of Greater Houston is partnering with Katy Visual & Performing Arts Center (KVPAC) to provide an “Art Blast” for special needs children ages 3-14 with all types of disabilities and their siblings ages 3-10 on Saturday February 11, 2012. The event will start at 9:00 A.M. and last until 3:00P.M. and will be held at the KVPAC facility. The idea of course is to give these children a day of fun and play while the parents get a needed break from the normal routine.

How it works is that all the children will be matched with volunteers aged 15 or older and they will spend the entire day together doing fun things.

If you are a Special Needs family and want to participate in this activity you will need to E-mail Christine Ellery at CEllery@eastersealshouston.org as reservations are required and will only be taken via E-mail.

This event is another fine example in Katy Texas of the local community stepping forward to help residents who really need assistance.

Craft Fair held at Local Katy Texas Church

The United Methodist Women’s group of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church will hold their annual “Pick-a-dilly” craft fair for the twenty first time on Saturday October 15, 2011. The fair begin at 9:00 A.M. and lasts until 4:00 P.M. There will be over 100 vendors selling many different items for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. Proceeds from this event will be used in St. Peter’s various mission works.

There will be food for sale, numerous crafts and handmade items stretching from soap, candles, ornaments, knits, jewelry and holiday wreaths and centerpieces.

There is no fee to entry the fair and no one has to buy tickets for the silent auction.

One of the highlights and traditions of this fair is the children’s pumpkin patch. The patch will have a large variety and sizes of pumpkins available for purchase. Children love to walk and run through the patch to find their very own special pumpkin.

The Women’s group wants to communicate to all who want to hear that there is something at Pick-a dilly fair for all ages and genders.
