In another report seen on CBS11 News recently, Keller Texas residents in neighborhoods in and around Roanoke Road; Knox Road; and Ottinger Road are frustrated because these busy roads have no shoulder or sidewalks for cyclist and pedestrians walking their pets or out for a stroll in the neighborhood. This presents safety concerns for cyclist, neighbors walking their pets, and others in the neighborhood.
One man walking his dog “Scrubby”, he was shown walking his dog down the side of a very busy street. A lot of dogs prefer to walk on pavement versus the grass. I know, we have four dogs ourselves. A car came speeding by in the same lane as he was trying to walk his dog along the side of the road.
The City of Keller says that currently there is just not enough money in the budget, and homeowners along these busy streets do not want their front yards impacted.
A suggestion by some is for a shared path for cyclist and dog walkers, etc….alike. but who will pay for it and where will it be placed remains to be seen.
