The City Of La Porte continues its FREE 2010 Plaza by the Bay Summer Concert Series at the new Five Points Town Plaza on Friday, August 6th from 6 -9 pm. This week's band is Dena Blue and the BlueJazz Band (replacing previously announce John Gear and the Hopeful Souls) sponsored by Lubrizol. This concert is FREE and OPEN to the PUBLIC.

The historic Battleship Texas will be decked out for Christmas during the month of December from 10am to 5pm.

Friends and family decorate the ship with ornaments, lights keeping in the theme of what the crew would have decorated it with. The battleship is one of our landmarks, and is a must see if you haven't ever been to it.

The 25th Annual Fords of the 50's Old Car Picnic will be on the San Jacinto Battleground State Historic Site, at 3523 battleground Road (around the Monument) in La Porte, TX. 1980 and older model cars and trucks will be on display March 9, 2009 from 9:00am until 2:00pm.

Gates open at 9:00am, and there will be awards and door prizes at 2:00pm. There will also be a lunch vendor on the site.
