PORT ARANSAS, Texas - The Texas Transportation Commission announced yesterday that approximately $690,000 was approved in the Setember meeting. These funds will be used for planned improvements which include replacing the Automated Weather Observing System (AWOS) and engineer/design for pavement and lighting improvements.

Project costs will be funded through TxDOT's Aviation Facilities Grant Program, which preserves and improves the state's general aviation system and the City of Port Aransas.

Waterside outdoor options include, of course, beach weddings, but there are also two fresh-water lakes and a tranquil infinity pool that provide beautiful backdrops. Outdoor ceremonies can be held at the Lake Colby Boardwalk and Fishing Pavilion or on the open, meticulously manicured Great Lawn--a one-acre expanse framed in by lush landscaping and stone pavers--while intimate indoor ceremonies can be held in Keira’s Pool Clubhouse or the C Bar Café, complete with kitchen facilities and space for dancing.

In addition, the Town Center makes for the ideal locale for weddings, particularly for receptions and dinners.
