It could have gone either way at the top of the Summer, but the results are in and it appears the buying public likes what they see in Prosper. Running the sale comps and available inventory in Lakes of La Cima, we currently have 18 homes available and 17 homes sold since June 1st. Starting in the $230's and into the $600's, Lakes of La Cima is going head-to-head with new construction and still selling. That is very hard to do, and says a lot for the level of construction and upgrades that the homeowners put into phase one construction - well ahead of the recession of 2008.

Resale values have recovered nicely since last Summer, and there are only a few builder specs from 2008 still on the market. Be sure to run sale comps prior to offering on these homes. They may be remaining inventory, but the builders have them priced to sell.

As a resident Realtor of Prosper, I made a very smart investment in Lakes of La Cima in 2006 and can attest personally to the quality of the homes and the schools in our community.

FREE REUSABLE TOTE BAGS FROM NATURE'S BOUNTY

Jennifer Dahl - Prosper TX Homes - Frisco Homes - Celina , Allen, McKinney: Real Estate Agent in Prosper, TX

We all know that plastic bags are bad for the environment......

Top Facts - Consumption

  • Each year, an estimated 500 billion to 1 trillion plastic bags are consumed worldwide. That comes out to over one million per minute. Billions end up as litter each year.
  • According to the EPA, over 380 billion plastic bags, sacks and wraps are consumed in the U.S. each year.
  • According to The Wall Street Journal, the U.S. goes through 100 billion plastic shopping bags annually. (Estimated cost to retailers is $4 billion)
  • According to the industry publication Modern Plastics, Taiwan consumes 20 billion bags a year-900 per person.
  • According to Australia's Department of Environment, Australians consume 6.9 billion plastic bags each year-326 per person. An estimated .7% or 49,600,000 end up as litter each year.

Top Facts - Environmental Impact

  • Hundreds of thousands of sea turtles, whales and other marine mammals die every year from eating discarded plastic bags mistaken for food.
  • Plastic bags don't biodegrade, they photodegrade-breaking down into smaller and smaller toxic bits contaminating soil and waterways and entering the food web when animals accidentally ingest.
  • As part of Clean Up Australia Day, in one day nearly 500,000 plastic bags were collected.
  • Windblown plastic bags are so prevalent in Africa that a cottage industry has sprung up harvesting bags and using them to weave hats, and even bags. According to the BBC, one group harvests 30,000 per month.
  • Plastic bags are among the 12 items of debris most often found in coastal cleanups, according to the nonprofit Center for Marine Conservation.

Currently, there are some cities in the DFW are are trying to BAN the use of them. Although it may seem extreme to some, it is important that we at least try to start weening them out. Some stores are already selling them, but....if you know me at all, you know I can find it for free!!!
