Are you looking for homes with land? Anyone who is relocating to South Texas has the opportunity to move to an area which has more than the standard lot size homes.
Many of the areas surrounding San Antonio sell their homes on at least one acre of land. There are a number that are in close commuting to the San Antonio working world so are in high demand.
One of my clients just moved from the north side of San Antonio around Bulverde where they lived in a nice tract home with a wonderful neighborhood. His commute was 21 miles one way a day to downtown SA through horrible traffic. They wanted more room for their children to have a pony or space to run and play or ride a go cart or ATV. They purchased a Floresville home on 2.5 acres with a 20 mile commute with 2 stop lights on his drive. The difference is unbelievable. The basic same miles to commute but the drive time is not only half but much less stressful.
Many of my current clients are actually looking for land to build on or to hunt on. Several servicemen from Randolph are looking for land to hunt upon when they are free on the weekends. One Randolph couple bow hunts so we are looking for that perfect piece of property to bow hunt on. The land in this area wil covered with deer, ferral hogs, and quail and dove and of course, the kids' favorites, possum and coon. As you get further away from San Antonio, the land becomes cheaper as the demand is not as high due to the longer commute.
San Antonio is surrounded by a variety of terrains. The "hill country" has gorgeous views and rocky terrain and the counties of Comal, Kerr, Kendall, Bandera and parts of Medina have this type of terrain. Parts of Medina, Atascosa, Wilson and Guadalupe are more of the level rolling terrain with sand. All the areas have abundant wildlife.
I run ads in the Homes and Land magazine and it is amazing the number of phone calls come in on the land ads in comparison to the homes ads. I think the word "hunt" and "deer" is a absolute magnet to men.
Gotta love it.

The Air Force's deployment and personnel processes are being combined in a transfer of the AEF Center from Langley AFB in Virginia to Randolph AFB, just northeast of San Antonio, Texas. Earlier in the year, AFPC's readiness division and casualty matters division were combined with AEF operations to create the Air and Space Expeditionary Force and Personnel Operations Directorate. The directorate seems to have met their goal of keeping disruption to a minimum during the transition. Tasks included readying the AFPC's infrastructure by migrating computer systems, rewiring networks, increasing bandwidth, and bringing systems online in the new location.

The ceremony on September 26 marked the achievement of full operational capability for the AEFC Force and Operations Directorate at the Air Force Personnel Center.
Randolph has a large impact on the local area, estimated as contributing more than 7,500 jobs. It is estimated that a net loss of only 0.1% of those jobs in the next few years would come as a result of BRAC's reshuffling of military and civilian positions.

There was an interesting article in the San Antonio Express News the other day stating that San Antonio doesn't suffer from the recession, as far as the housing market goes. It also should be noted that the homes in San Antonio rise about 4% a year in value. That is considered a good appreciation rate! Our market has dipped in some areas however in others, take New Braunsfel, it rose 1% over the last quarter. The Northwest side, near Lackland AFB, rose about 42%! Wow what a recession. If you're in the market for a nice home that's reasonably priced then I say San Antonio is the place to be!! We also only have about a 1% foreclosure rate and our unemployment rate is extremely low!! Jobs are a plenty in good ole San Antonio (and you can catch a Spurs game for a reasonable price).
Who do you know looking to buy or sell in the San Antonio area?
