While Thanksgiving and Christmas are mine and my sister's favorite family holidays, Halloween is my brother-in-law's favorite to decorate for. They live somewhat in the country and many friends come by just to see what he's up to now.

In the past few years, he has gained the reputation of being "the scary guy with the chainsaw" who chases the teenage trick-or-treaters as they try to leave with the treats. This year, that role has been delegated and he has schemed to be even more spooky! He's even learned to walk on dry-wall stilts to make the most of his plan.

There are always fun (and messy) projects for the kids before we go on the trick or treat route. Last year, I provided apples, caramel, chocolate, and candies for the kids to make their own apple treats. It was great fun!

This year I'm not sure what the project will be for the kids, but we'll have a big pot of chili to warm your belly before the fun begins!
