SALE PENDING @ 5 Lakeshore in Carolina Cove

A Sale is Pending on this beautiful home in Carolina Cove. Inspections are set for next week and we are praying for a great report.

After inspections, there will be a long wait to close on this one as we are waiting for some personal things to take place before it closes. The good news is, EVERYONE is fully aware of this, and it happens to work for both the buyers and the sellers.

Who knows.... things may happen faster than expected and we may get to close earlier. You never know. We have to get past the inspections first! ☺

Just Closed! Carolina Cove! Joni Staples (c) 2010

This darling 3/2/2 sold to a young man, a few years out of high school. That is so cool to me! He got a GREAT interest rate and is one of the blessed few who can say that they are homeowners at such a young age! My great friend, Gary Werner, was the selling agent (THANK YOU!) and Lorri Lehman from First National Bank of Huntsville was their mortgage specialist! Happy Buyers and Happy Seller's! Life is Good!

Welcome to Carolina Cove on beautiful Lake Livingston. I lived in this wonderful community for 13 years and LOVED every minute of it. So why did we move? The house out grew us. Once we were "empty-nesters", we couldn't see the purpose of heating, cooling, maintaining and paying taxes on a home we didn't need. So... we sold "The Big House" and bought 2 acres directly on the Trinity River. This was only after we lost 2 other small houses to other buyers while we were getting ourselves emotionally ready to sell. EVERYONE wants to live in Carolina Cove.

It was an emotional thing for both my husband and me. The subdivision is small and we lived on "The Circle" In the photo above, the circle is across the water. It's an island and every home is waterfront except for 3 that are in the center of the circle and 2 on the south side of the boat ramp. We personally knew every home owner on our street except for one, and in 13 years, I NEVER saw that home owner at their house. Anyway... Our block was always throwing some kind of get together! We had fish fries, super bowl parties, and fireworks wars between the circle and the other side of the water -where I shot this picture from. Rick and I always had the Carolina Cove Christmas Party at our house! It is a very social neighborhood. FAMILY!

Carolina Cove owns their own streets, which is super cool if you have kids or grandkids. Mini bikes, go carts, golf carts, four wheelers... they are legal on the streets of Carolina Cove. There is a wonderful little campground and marina located within the subdivision. People from all of the surrounding neighborhoods visit the marina for coffee and to report the "local news." :O) Cove Marina.... ahhh... more great memories!

Anyway... I love the river land that we bought, BUT, there is no comparison to the family like community of Carolina Cove.

So... when you get ready to buy on Lake Livingston, give me a call and let's go to my old stompin' ground! We're sure to be greeted by Phyllis working in her garden... or the Carter's who live over Carter Cove... FOR SURE we'll stop in the marina... and if you're lucky... there will be a house for sale in this little piece of Heaven by the water!

Small Town - ALWAYS in our business!

The girls!

When I hear the words small town the first word that comes to mind is gossip. At least that is what I used to think until I moved to a small town and found out what their definition of being in everybody's business is.

I remember when Ben had his heart attack. He had been planning on taking down a dead tree and of course, all the neighbors knew about it. While Ben was laying in the hospital bed, those same neighbors got together and took down the dead tree and even cleaned up the mess! They didn't want Ben to have to worry about it.

Another neighbor, Otis, had battled cancer for several years. When it got to the point that he could no longer walk, the men's prayer group from the Riverside Baptist Church came and built a handicap ramp that lead from the driveway up and on to his porch to make it easier to wheel him in and out of the house. Oh how Otis was blessed by this outpour of love from his brothers.

When Uncle Gene (no relation -- that's just what everyone called him) was dying, Aunt Dot couldn't bear to leave his side. The neighbors called before heading to town to see if they could pick up prescriptions, groceries or anything else that they might need. You see, Uncle Gene and Aunt Dot had become family.

In times like these I often hear "There is nothing that we can do, its out of our control." That is simply not true. While we cannot change the situation, we can pray to the one who can and trust Him that He knows what is best. Then, we can look for little ways to show that we care.

Those small town folks are always in our business -- Thank God!
