Positive headway is being made to extend the first time home buyers tax credit. Today, the Senate tentatively agreed to extend the credit. This is great news for those buyers who could not close on a home by the original deadline date of November 30th - just a month away. Under the agreement to extend the credit, home buyers must be under contract by April 30, 2010 with a close date deadline on or before June 30th, 2010. This proposal still faces votes in the full Senate and House, and House leaders have already said they support the extension.
Washington Lawmakers also added a $6,500 tax credit for existing homeowners who have lived in their current residence for a consecutive five-year period in the past eight years. Plus, raise the qualifying income limits to $125,000 for single taxpayers and $225,000 for joint taxpayers.
This year's first-time home buyers credit has accomplished its intended purpose. Approximately 1.4 million first-time home buyers have qualified for the credit through August. The National Association of Realtors estimates that 350,000 of them would not have purchased their homes without the credit. The $8000 tax credit extension is a critical part of continued economic recovery as we begin to see a positive movement in the housing market.
If you are a looking to make a home purchase, this could be your best ever opportunity. The tax credit, low interest rates and prices of new and resale homes won't always be to your advantage.

The owners of Round Rock Gardens, Jeff and Stephanie Ramert would like to invite all residents to come out and enjoy their Fall Festival. This event will certainly be an enjoyable way to spend your Saturday from 4-7 and is destined to produce many "Kodak Moments."
While you are at the festival please buy some plants too! :) The Ramerts have a wonderful staff and they can assist you in finding just the right product for your lawn or educate you about which best plants are for best Texas weather. Make your Round Rock home beautiful with plants, pottery, and landscaping services from Round Rock Gardens.
Live Music, Hayrides, Pumpkin Decorating & the Gourd Hunt will be tons of fun! This is a FREE event. Sat. Oct. 24th 4-7 pm
On Saturday, October 24th, the "Great Pumpkin" will hide bushels of warty gourds at the Gourd Hunt at Round Rock Gardens. The event will be held rain or shine in the park-like setting of the nursery. The Gourd Hunt is FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Cameras are encouraged. There should be plenty of whimsical photo opportunities, as children may take home all of the gourds they can carry with 2 bare hands, which leads to some pretty ingenious methods of collection that are photo-worthy.
This assures that all children have a chance to gather plenty of gourds, regardless of the pace in which they hunt. It's like an Egg Hunt but with gourds. All you can carry!

Open House in Creekmont West – Round Rock, TX $175,000, MLS# 6708124
I am holding an open house today at a great home in Creekmont West. It will start at 4:30 pm and go until 6:30 pm. The area middle school, Chisholm Trail, is having a football game tonight. This great home is located just around the corner! If you happen to drive by or are attending the game, I encourage you to stop by the open house ahead of time.

The owners have put a lot of hard work into the home, and it shows. It has a 50 year roof (owner operates a well-established roofing company) and has new hardi-siding. The owners recently installed a new Trane A/C unit – so the open house will be very pleasant! The home has a large living area downstairs with a formal dining area, and the kitchen is off the living room with a breakfast area, refinished counter tops, and laundry closet. Upstairs features a second living area and all four bedrooms. The master is huge and the counter tops in the bathroom have also been refinished. The master bath has separate tub and shower, double vanity, and walk in closest. The owners use one of the other three bedrooms from a study. The floor plan gives you lots of flexibility to set it up to fit you needs. If you come by the open house, you will see this home has everything you want and need!
This home has so many great features. The area is one of the most desired in the Round Rock area. The house sits on a corner lot and backs up to open, privately-owned land. Thus, there are only neighbors on one side! It also has an oversized backyard for the neighborhood. The backyard has a patio off the kitchen. It has a tremendous sense of privacy. As I mentioned, the middle school is right around the corner. Round Rock ISD is top notch and so are all the schools this home feed into. It is easily accessible to HWY 620. This open house is really worth seeing!

Here is the address and map to the property. I hope to see you there!
