I recently made the move from KW Memorial in Houston, TX to join the management team of Keller Williams Realty The Woodlands and Magnolia. In the move, I needed new business cards. TREE REMOVAL IN THE WOODLANDS ~ DO YOUR HOMEWORK!

Due to the worst drought in decades and extremely high temperatures that we experienced for a record number of days, our beautiful trees here in The Woodlands took a very hard hit. We are just now seeing the beginnings of the devastating effects of these conditions on the trees. As time goes by even though we are getting some much needed rain, many, many trees are just not making it.

As we experience the Spring storms, the winds are causing these distressed trees to drop massive amounts of limbs. This is posing a significant safety risk for homeowners and individuals. Because of this, residents are urged to assess the trees on their property to look for potential problems.

There are some major guidelines to consider BEFORE you cut down any trees or hire someone to do this for you! IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU CHECK WITH THE WOODLANDS TOWNSHIP PRIOR TO CUTTING ANY TREES DOWN! The trees in The Woodlands are a precious commodity so proceeding with the correct information is very important.

If you need to remove dead trees, it is extrememly important to call on the experts. The Woodlands Township specifically says:

Condition for Tree Removal:

*Tree(s) have been determined to be damaged, diseased or otherwise hazardous by a third party certified arborist or other qualified individual with a degree in forestry.

New tree removal companies are popping up all over the place. BEFORE you hire - check them out! Find out and verify the following information: This link has some valuable information as well.

• Is the company bonded and insured?
• Do they have a certified arborist or degreed person in forestry?
• How many years have they been in the business of tree removal in the area?
• Check out their references.
• Get several bids and be wary the scams that are out there.
• Check with The Woodlands Township to inquire about companies that you have questions about.

The bottom line is to do your homework and only hire someone who knows their stuff! Our trees are precious and we need to do all that we can to protect the trees still living, remove the dead ones safely and correctly and re-plant our forest!

Tree removal in The Woodlands is an important topic and one to take very seriously! Proceed with caution!
