About The Woodlands' Northshore Park

The Woodlands Christian Business Network (WCBN), a 501(c)(3) a group of business people in and around the Woodlands, Spring, Conroe and Lake Conroe whose vision is "Empowering local business owners and professionals to be a light for Christ in the marketplace."

WCBN is holding a 3k Fun run in Northshore Park in the Woodlands this Saturday, November 5 from 8am to 12pm.

The proceeds will benefit the Back 2 Basics ministry that is also a 501(c)(3) that as their site says brings the love of God to abused, neglected and forgotten teenagers in the North Harris and Montgomery systems.

This ministry currently supports over 500 teenagers and is growing. As I mentioned in my article about the Conroe Noon Lions in the Conroe Courier last Sunday our future depends on building these kids up to be community leaders.

So come on out to the Northshore Park this Saturday and participate on the WCBN 3k Fun run it's for a good cause and after a long hot summer it's an excellent opportunity to enjoy the fall weather!

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 2010 ~ THE WOODLANDS, TX. On Saturday, October 2 from 1-5 p.m. at Northshore Park in The Woodlands, TX residents along with local law enforcement agencies will celebrate the National Night Out.

This is a great event for families to come out and see the Mounted Patrol, talk to officers and other safety related professionals. The kids will enjoy seeing the squad cars, the horses and the fire engines.

The event is free and additional parking will be provide at Hewitt Associates which is just a short distance away from the park.

On Tuesday, October 5, residents are encouraged to gather between 5:30 and 8 p.m. on their street or in a nearby park. The sole purpose of gathering together as a neighborhood is to get to know your neighbors and be able to watch our for one another. Preventing crime can be as simple as being vigilant in our own neighborhoods.

YMCA Dragon Boat Team Challenge 2010 ~ The Woodlands, TX. The 12th Annual Dragon Boat Raceswill be held September 24 - 26, 2010 at Northshore Park. Fun activities, team building, great food and fellowship abound at this annual event.

I participated a few years ago and had a fantatstic time. The best part of course were the actual dragon boat races. It is harder than it looks but our team had fun none-the-less!

Companies use this venue as an excellent team building time! Be ready to be exhausted, sun-burned but having the time of your life! Even if you can't participate, it is worth coming out to watch!
