Big Water, Utah & Lake Powell area gets snow

Heather Rankin Lake Powell Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Page, AZ

With two large storm fronts moving through the area last week, things were a bit hectic around here. Between the two storms Big Water, Utah received 8.5 inches of snow. Keeping in mind our average rainfall here is around ten inches, this was a big deal. Usually it snows around Lake Powell four or five times a year, but the snow is usually melted by noon. Not this time. At almost a week later, we still have a couple of inches on the ground in the places not in direct sunlight.

Enjoy the photos!

Views off my Big Water Utah Back Porch

Heather Rankin Lake Powell Real Estate: Real Estate Agent in Page, AZ

For the folks that have stopped by my blog here at at Lakepowellrealty and joked around about photos off my back porch... here you go!

Yesterday I walked out of my driveway to the street and shot the following three photos. These are all from the corner of my driveway looking basically north-ish. There was a storm starting to build which arrived today. It has been raining, well sprinkling, all day which is great news! With only 4 to 8 inches of rainfall a year, rain is good.

The first on is on Highway 389 in Arizona, just outside of the Paiute Reservation, between Hurricane and Fredonia.

The set was burned down a few years ago and currently there is a fund raiser going on to have it rebuilt. I took this photo a couple of months ago, but on the way home from the training, got the same view, so I decided to repost it. Old Paria Movie Set Turn Off

This photo is also at the Old Paria Movie Set Turn off looking back toward the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. You can see the different levels "Staircase" of mountains going back toward the monument.
