Thankful Thursdays: GOT HAIR? Donate to Locks of Love!

Thankful Thursdays: Locks of Love

I was feeling the need for a change after having surgery due to the Blahs, so I called and made an appointment to get my hair done.

While I was there, I thought maybe I'd try a different hairstyle and well...This week I donated my hair to a great cause, Locks of Love!

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. We meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses we provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.

For more information on Locks of Love, go to: http://www.locksoflove.org

I am thrilled to know that I donated my hair to such a worthy cause...to help children feel better about themselves!

Special thanks to Katie Reeder, owner of Studio 359 hair salon.

Wordless Wednesday (almost!): Chasing Rainbows

Southern Utah Rainbow

"I was blessed to have family members who encouraged me to persue my dreams. Whether it is your parents, or your uncles or your aunts or the neighbor down the road, it's important that kids have someone who encourages them to chase their rainbow." ~Dolly Parton

I'm still chasing rainbows! I do it:

  • to influence my children to persue their dreams!
  • because I love the real estate arena!
  • to make my clients dreams come true!

Why do you chase rainbows?

Two ladies playing cards

Two elderly ladies had been friends for many decades. Over the years they had shared all kinds of activities and adventures. Lately, their activities had been limited to playing cards a few times a week.

One day when playing cards, one looked at the other and said, "Now don't get mad at me. I know we've been friends a long time, but I just can't think of your name. I've thought and thought, but I can't remember it. Please tell me your name."

Her friend glared at her. For at least three minutes she just stared and glared.

Finally she said, "How soon do you need to know?"
