Teacher of the year award= Big Budah Cool School: This Wednesday, November 30th Fox 13 news will be at our school. Big Budah will be reporting from our school bright and early. Students need to be at the school by 6am so we can be ready when the cameras start to roll for the morning news segment. Big Budah will be visiting our school to help acknowledge our Teacher of the Year. This year our very own Mrs. Fjeldsted has been awarded Rocky Mountain Districts Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Fjeldsted is the first grade teacher at Grace Lutheran School in Sandy Utah.
We will have 8 different news segments ready for Wednesday mornings newscast. The kids are excited. There will be coffee and rolls for the parents dropping off their children early that morning and breakfast will also be served to all the students.

Mrs. Fjeldsted wins Lutheran Schools Teacher of the
Year
Each year the Rocky Mountain District of the LCMS selects one teacher to be honored as
the Educator of the Year. The Rocky Mountain District encompasses all Lutheran schools in
Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico. This award is designed to recognize excellence in classroom
teaching as well as leadership at the school level and involvement in the congregation and school
beyond the classroom.
The Educator of the Year this year is Kris Fjeldsted, first grade teacher at Grace Lutheran School
in Sandy, Utah. Kris exemplifies excellence in the classroom as she teaches and cares for each
of the students entrusted to her care, not only academically, but also on a personal and spiritual
level. She also cares for the families of those students. Kris is acknowledged as a leader within
the faculty and is well respected by colleagues as well as congregation members and parents.
She is involved in a variety of congregational activities as well as school activities.
We are honored to have Mr. Fjeldsted as our first grade teacher, here in Sandy, Utah at Grace
Lutheran School. Congratulations!

Veterans Day Event! 11-11-11 Sandy Utah. A free cinnamon roll and some milk this morning at Grace Lutheran School for the Veterans! From 7:30- 8am stop by and have a treat. The students at Grace will also be putting on a Veterans Day Assembly today starting at 1:00 everyone is invited and we hope to see you there. Following the Veterans Day Assembly will be lite snacks and beverages and good times visiting.
Thank you to all the Veterans who have served us in the past and are currently serving our country. The majority of the men in my family have served our country. I think we've had Veterans in all the branches and in all the wars. I can't imagine what they have sacrificed and been through for all of us. Words just don't seem like enough, but Thank You!

Only a few more days until Oktoberfest in Sandy Utah.... Save the Date September 24th. This year they have expanded all the activities and added a lot more fun for us adults. Listed below in the photo are some of the all day activities not listed is the golf chipping competition, balloon dart throwing and blackjack (no gambling can't do that in utah)

What a great way to spend your day and end it with a fabulous firework show at 9pm....
