Priced at $178,500. approximately 5.5 acres in rural setting. Land will be surveyed and price adjusted as needed. Seller is willing to consider selling lot in a larger piece or a slightly smaller piece. At 5.5 acres this piece will qualify for greenbelt status and the taxes will be greatly reduce. As a building lot the front acre will be taxed at a higher rate and the 4.5 acres will stay greenbelt status.

Vernal Utah plants hundreds of pots with petunias each year. The run from the beginning of town on Hwy 40, down Main Street and out to Hwy 40 on the other end of town. It is an amazing display of color. Last spring I posted pictures of the petunias announcing spring. The flowers in the fall were even better. By then they had exploded from their pots and were heading down the curb to the road.

I got the chance to take pictures in September of the area around Vernal Utah. The weather was warm and great for hiking, rock hunting, and of course taking photos. We drove up near Red Cloud Loop for a few hours to enjoy the scenery and we were not disappointed. The Aspen trees were a wonderful contrast with their bright yellow leaves.

Set aside November 28, 2008 for the Holly Days in Vernal Utah. There will be events to participate in from 12-9 pm. The list is so long that I will just mention a few.
The day starts with a Turkey Drawing at 12:00 pm at the Cobble Rock Park and there is a prize drawing at 8:30 pm at the county building. You must be present to win.
You can enjoy a ride in a horse drawn carriage, ride the Holly Trolley between venues, or let the children ride the Polar Express Children's Train Ride.
A Christmas matinee is available or for the more adventurous the Community Center is offering swimming, rock wall climbing, and an obstacle course.
There is something for everyone from concerts, crafts, ice skating, carnival rides and games, professional ice sculpturing demonstration, and soap carving.
You can participate in a photo contest, the winter tales creative writing/poetry contest, or even a wii video challenge.
It would not be the Holly Days without the Parade of lights and the Heritage Garden lighting Ceremony. Not to be missed is the roasting of chestnuts and marshmallows, Churros, Cotton candy, and a cup of hot chocolate. Santa will make an appearance following the parade. The evening will end with fireworks.

I was delighted to see Christmas decoration going up in Vernal. Cobble Rock Park has beautiful wreaths hanging on the fences and entryway. There are santas hang on posts. They have decorated the light posts with red garland and snowflake tops. It won't be long and they will be turning on the Christmas lights. I can't wait to see the snowflakes lit up all the way down Main Street!
