Thankful Thursdays: A burst of sunshine!

Overcast skies with opaque cloud play create a monotone atmosphere until a small amount of sun begins to burst through lighting up the blue! Everything that it touches comes alive while yearning for more of its concentrated efforts. As I rounded the volcano right before getting home in Veyo, Utah, this was a gift and wanted to share it with all of you!

Thankful for small bursts of sunshine this day!

After a day of work, I was in 'go home' mode and as I crested the hill, the entire countryside before me was immersed in a pink glow. The snow on the hills and volcanoes took on the same bright hue, this was definitely the 'highlight' of the day!

Veyo is known for its numerous cinder cones and lava flows that litter the landscape. Also home to the world famous Veyo Pool and Crawdad Canyon, Rock Climbing Park.

We have much to be grateful for here in sunny southern Utah and love to take advantage of the exceptional weather by planting an annual garden. With over 40 varieties of fruits and vegetables to choose from, we will have a plentiful harvest throughout the summer and well into the fall.

Gardening has been an enjoyable past time of ours and while there is a lot of work involved to prepare the area, it is now very low maintenance with auto-timers for accurate, no-waste watering. Weed barrier and gravel prevents an over abundant amount of weeds in the commmon areas.

We are looking forward to canning the tomatoes, eating fresh corn and using the herbs in everyday cooking. We have much to be grateful for indeed!

This is the garden shortly after it was planted: http://activerain.com/blogsview/1649789/tomorrow-s-tuesday-a-look-at-things-to-come- It's amazing what a few weeks can do!
