The Westover Beer Garden is one of North Arlington's newest and most loved treasures. A quaint neighborhood market started carrying an incredible variety of beers, sectioned off the area outside their side entrance, started holding it open several nights a week with cool crazy beers you've never heard of on tap, often with live music, called it The Westover Beer Garden, and a neighborhood treasure was born.
It is a 20/30/40/50/60 something Arlingtonian's dream! The 20 somethings have a nice outdoor place to enjoy good beer and mingle, and the older folks feel at home too, even with new baby in tow, and enjoy good beer, getting to know your neighbors in the wonderful weather and feel cool again. The Beer Garden is also a great place to watch sporting events on TV - outside - where else can you get that?
They have live music Wednesday through Saturday night and often feature great local talent. They are open every day with 6 beers on tap, and if they run out, they always get more fast. Yes, they serve food too. It is awesome really in every way! Located on Washington Boulevard in Westover, it is walkable from many N. Arlington neighborhoods, right next to the Post Office, across the street from Lost Dog and Thai Noy and a few stores down from Ayer's Variety and Hardware (another fantastic Arlington delight, a place where you can get nearly ANYTHING).
Everyone loves this place.
Well, I guess not everyone.
Apparently some Westover neighbors were not fond of the live music part, protested, and now Arlington County is trying to shut the party down.
Please join the Facebook Page to save the live music at this Arlington delight and go to the Westover Market and sign the petition. This is a unique and special place and should not be shut down.
