Top Neighbors: The magic behind the mirrors
You will never have to pay to be listed as a top neighbor. Period. That important detail clarified, let's discuss how we arrive at two "top neighbors" for a given region:
Localism is a bustling collection of hyper-local communities, and the top neighbors should reflect those members who are most active. When ranking users in a given region, several factors are considered. To get your foot in the proverbial door, you need to have posted at least one "Localism" article or photo for the region.
The very best way to quickly rise to #1 is to post high-quality local content. Keeping a steady strem of incoming posts and photos will massively tilt the scales in your favor.
What doesn't count toward the top neighbor ranking? ActiveRain points and community sponsorships. The top neighbor spots will always go to the most active members in a region. We want to create a level playing field that encourages the growth of communities — talent and dedication are required to win the day.
It all started two months earlier, on October 1st, when this Bristow single family home in Linton Crest hit the market priced at $425,000. Before the end of that first day on the market, we had a full price offer. My Sellers had that offer and several others to choose from. They naturally chose the full price offer, that also gave them a 90 day window to obtain Short Sale Approval from Bank of America (1st trust) and 
the goal of hitting our December 30th settlement date, as proposed by Bank of America. By mid-Decmeber we had Wells Fargo's approval letter in hand. 
I am not a graceful, athletic or coordinated person. So when my husband and I decided to dust off our inline skates and take up the activity again, we searched for a place where we could be away from traffic and hills. Prince William County Public Schools have lovely tracks. Unfortunately, they are posted as No Skating, Skateboarding, Etc. So we tried empty parking lots. We found the same signs posted in parking lots of churches, office buildings, shopping centers, etc. It got to the point that when we would approach a potential skating site, we would joke as we approached the inevitable sign, insisting that they all read, "Don't even THINK about skating here." 
Eventually, the two lanes that currently serve as the one eastbound, and one westbound lane of Rollins Ford Road will be the two westbound lanes. However, that is at minimum a season of skating away, possibly longer. The remaining portion of the future eastbound Rollins Ford Road will more than double the already paved length of road and digging has not even begun. Most of the length of the road is still dirt and grass.
