The Creekwood and Creekwood South neighborhoods are located in the southern section of the city near The Great Dismal Swamp. There are approximately 381 homes in the combined neighborhoods. The schools for this neighborhood are: Elementary School – Grassfield, Middle School – Hugo Owens, High School – Grassfield. Please refer to this website for up to date attendance zones as zoning may change. Interstate 64 is within 2 miles and US 17 is within 1/2 mile. The neighborhoods are located 5 miles west of the municipal center. There are many recreational facilities nearby and the Dismal Swamp trail has bike paths and areas for canoeing and boating. The nearest grocery shopping area is 1 mile away, Wal Mart is 2 miles and Greenbrier Mall and Town Center is about 5 miles.
Homes were built between 1991 and 1997 and vary in size from 15000 to 2100 square feet with. There are a few homes that are a bit larger and smaller. The homes are both 1 and 2 stories, built of frame construction and are on a slab with vinyl siding. Most lots are about 1/4 acre with some larger and some are waterfront. There is a large park and 2 smaller lakes in the community. The communities do not have a homeowners association.
