Plantation Greens to be Reviewed By Chesapeake City Council

Plantation Greens Apartments Finally to be Reviewed by Chesapeake City Council

The Chesapeake City Council will reviewing the proposed development of the Plantation Greens apartment complex that is proposed to be developed in the land between the Cahoon Plantation Golf Club and Shillelagh Road. The apartment complex would bring 325 luxury apartments to the area. Concerns over the project focus on the already congested Dominion Boulevard to the issues with drainage that many local residents have suffered as a result of previous development efforts. Supporters claim that it would stimulate growth and economic development.

It is assumed that the Planning Commission will recommend that the proposed development be denied. However, nothing is certain until the City Council has an opportunity to review the facts and hear the opinions of the local residents.

People who would like to have their voices heard on the matter should attend the City Council meeting to review the Plantation Greens Apartments Development on November 23, 2010 at 6:30pm.

There is a planned meeting for those opposed to the Plantation Greens Apartment project at the Grassfield Ruritan Club on Thursday, November 18 at 7:30. The Ruritan Club is located at 920 Shillelagh Road in Chesapeake, Virginia.

Eagle Pointe is one of the few gated communities in Chesapeake and offers a myriad of options for empty-nesters who are looking for an active lifestyle but do not want to have to bother with tiresome chores like yardwork or exterior home maintenance. All Eagle Pointe homes feature a first-floor master bedroom, a feature which is desired by most active adult home buyers.

The Property Owners' Association at Eagle Pointe has very strict guidelines which ensure that the community maintains its aesthetic beauty. Your POA dues will gain you access to the community's amazing Bay Club which features an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, library, card room, gym, and impeccable party room and kitchen. Eagle Pointe employs an Activities Director and hosts numerous activities throughout the year which further enhances the sense of community. In addition, many exercise classes are hosted in the gym each week.

However, construction has continued and standards within the community have not been negatively impacted. Forest Lakes in Chesapeake Virginia One of my most favorite neighborhoods in Chesapeake is the neighborhood of Forest Lakes. Forest Lakes is located between Waters Road and Washington Road and features a central circular drive (aptly named Forest Lakes Circle) and several offshoot avenues and cul-de-sacs. The street names in Forest Lakes evoke the name of every tree imaginable...Maple, Pecan, Spruce, Cherry and Walnut, to name a few. The homes were built starting around 1990 and there are a few new construction homes available on the Waters Road side of the development. Houses in Forest Lakes range from single story ranch homes to grand two story homes. Forest Lakes was once the site of Home-arama and some of the homes have extra pizazz that you do not always find in other developments. Although, at this time, some of those extra touches might appear to seem dated to the prospective buyer. Exteriors range from brick to vinyl, some have expansive front porches. Many of the homes that are on the interior of the main circle border a man-made lake which is a popular haven for all kinds of water fowl. The community also contains a park with playground equipment and a club house.

An amazing thing about Forest Lakes is that it is one neighborhood that has not been plagued by a spate of foreclosures or short sales, although there have been a few. For that reason, as well as the natural beauty and desirability of the neighborhood, Forest Lakes has maintained its value relatively well.
