Chesding Landing is an amazing neighborhood situated on the 3,100 acre Lake Chesdin. Lake Chesdin is a full service lake so you can water ski, , sail, swim, speed boat, or fish for big mouth bass. If you have a waterfront lot, you can do all of these things right from the dock in your backyard. This is vacation living at its best right here in metro Richmond.
Chesdin Landing also offers a private, championship golf course. The greens are wonderfully maintained and it is a challenging course for golfers of different skill levels. If you love to golf, you can't beat having such a great course in your back yard.
Chesding Landing has tons of amenities for its community members. The huge clubhouse has a a great restaurant. There are lighted tennis courts, a health club, a playground, a sand volleyball court, an Olympic sized pool, a basketball court and miles of walking trails. The grounds are meticulously maintained giving you the feeling that you are living at a 5 star resort.
I think that Chesdin Landing is one of the most beautiful and unique neighborhoods in the Richmond region. I love the gorgeous homes. You can find every style of architecture from classic southern mansions with double porches to mission to custom to Mediterranean to homes that resemble medieval castles. All done tastefully and well. Full Brick exteriors are common as is hardiplank and other upgraded building materials. Most of the homes feature tons of windows to take in the beautiful views and many have entire walls of windows overlooking the lake, the woods or the golf course.
The neighborhood is located a ways out from the city. Its rural location is what makes it possible to have the large lots and be on the lake, but there is more of a commute than to other exclusive neighborhoods. You can't beat the drive though. Many routes to Chesdin Landing take you right through Pocahontas State Park. The lush trees and beautiful winding roads make for a relaxing way to de-stress after a day at work. I completely think that the extra few miles is completely worth it to live in such a beautiful neighborhood, surrounded by water and great amenities.
I lived near Chesdin Landing when my oldest son was a baby and would sometimes drive through the neighborhood as he drifted off to sleep in his baby car seat. I loved seeing all of the beautiful homes and the beautiful lake sparkling in the distance. It is truly a special neighborhood.
