I don't often get away from Paradise. This weekend I am up visiting family in rural Virgina. It truly is pretty here, and a lovely weekend. High temps in the 70's, lows in the 60's. Lunch at the Island House in Wachapreague was good as always. Sometimes I miss it here.

Onancock and the rest of the Eastern Shore of Virginia are preparing for the annual Garden Tour on Saturday April 25th! It is the best time to see some of the most beautiful homes on the shore. While none of them are for sale at the moment it gives a distinct flavor of the beauty that exists here. Since many of our lovely homes are tucked away down narrow country lanes that never hint at what lies beyond this is a great time to come and explore. Below are two image's I recorded of fishing boats at Chincoteague, Va. on Assateague Island in Accomack County on Virginia's Eastern Shore. Chincoteague is best known for the Chincoteague Ponies made famous by Marguerite Henry's children's book Misty of Chincoteague.

Most of Assateague Island is preserved as The Assateague Island National Shore and the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge and is well worth a visit for the beautiful beaches, Assateague lighthouse, wildlife, and driving on the beach in your properly equipped 4x4, with a permit issued by the park.
