It doesn't happen often. And for some it does not happen often enough. As for me I'd be happy if it never happened because I don't particularly like it, unless I had planned on staying home for the day. Because that is about as long as it lasts at the most.
Today we got some snow. They are calling for six to ten inches. I can't remember when we have gotten this much snow. Yes, I can it was in the middle 90's, ten or twelve years ago. So I guess we are due.
When folks relocate to this area they always ask about our winters and they usually are pleasantly surprised that they are generally mind. On the average we may get about six inches of snow between December and March.
We tend to have the schools close every time it snows because our taxes remain low because we don't have the snow equipment like you may see in more northern states. In addition, you can count on folks making a mad rush to the grocery store when there is a hint of snow to stock up. I'm not quite sure why because by the next day it is melted.
I think the most concern should be because folks are not so use to driving in the snow, it has been my experience that it can be very dangerous. Not the snow as much as the drivers on the road. So be careful out there and enjoy the snow while it lasts.

Recently I had a homeowner ask me if finishing the basement and adding square footage to their home would increase the value of their home. I loved their forward thinking. Durning a time when folks are losing value in their homes this homeowner is trying to figure out what he can do to counter that problem. With a little investment he could make a difference. Please take the time and watch the video.

The county seat of Campbell County, Virginia- located in Rustburg, is named after Jeremiah Rust who donated 50 acres of his land to create the village in 1784. Less than 10 miles outside of the city of Lynchburg, Rustburg is still a small town, with a population under 9,000. There is a lot of new construction going on and many of the government buildings have recently been built.
Whether you need a permit, have a court appearance or your children need immunizations, this is where you will come if you're a Campbell County resident. I researched a deed back to 1954 this afternoon and the people in the clerk's office were very helpful and pleasant. County Departments and Offices include:
