Fredericksburg VA is a thriving town of 22,000 residents, 50 miles south of Washington DC and 60 miles north of Richmond.
It has retained the heart, soul and backbone of it's American history, preserved and enhanced its old downtown yet offers all the modern amenities.
Spring is coming. Let's see what Fredericksburg will be wearing....

Many residents commute to Quantico Marine Base, Ft. Belvoir, the Pentagon and Washington DC by the Virginia Railway Express, and well planned bus routes and car pool arrangements from large commuter lots.

Surrounded by the beautiful Virginia countryside, and bordered by the Rappahannock River, Fredericksburg's gardens come alive in the spring with dogwood, wisteria, red bud and azaleas.

The town played an integral part in both colonial America and in the war between the states, and has worked to retain the best of its past.

Come spend a few days and explore Fredericksburg's shops, museums and Civil War sites.
Relax in the evening with dinner by the river.
What could be better?

Downtown Fredericksburg sparkles with decorations Christmas this time of the year. The various shops outdo themselves with creative displays, one very different from the next. It is not only a pleasure to shop for Christmas presents, which you can find with abundance, but you also are treated with whimsy as you stroll beautiful, historic Old Town.
Do you have a list of folks that you would like to give gifts to but aren't sure what to purchase? Window shopping and browsing through these shops will provide you with terrific ideas. Could your home use a little more Christmas cheer? If so, you are bound to find a wonderful assortment of decorations that will surely do that. I have!
Then when you need to take a break and perhaps grab a bite to eat there is a wide assortment of terrific spots to dine.
Fortunately for those of us living at or near Lake Anna, Fredericksburg is close enough to make this an easy and enjoyable outing. Bring your camera if you like to take photos. It's a great spot for that too.
