It may be hard to see the detail in the smaller photos I wanted to post the most recent construction updates on High Street in Williamsburg Virginia. The movie theater is almost complete. Apartments and town homes are well on the way.

Here are some recent photos of Williamsburg Virginia's Newest Community The Village at Quarterpath. When complete it will offer 77 homes in a mix of detached and town home styles. A traditional neighborhood design will be highlighted by the village green park at the neighborhood's entrance offering a womnderful place for residents to gather and enjoy year round. Narrow tree lined streets with sidewalks on both sides offer the perfect way to stroll through the neighborhood. All homes will feature traditional architecture and deep front porches crating a quaint neighborly feel. The Williamsburg Quarter Recreation center is across the street. Homes prices range from $334,900 for a 19800 square townhome to $549,000 for a detached home of over 3000 square feet . The majority of homes will feature rear-loading garage convenience with private rear-access roads resulting in quiet thoroughfares throughout the community.
The Mayor of Williamsburg Jeanne Zeidler noted that the Village at Quarterpath, along with the nearby Quarterpath at Williamsburg development, represented one of the last large undeveloped tracts of land inside the city limits. She noted that with Redoubt Park opening in May and Quarterpath Crossing shopping center ( where The New Harris Teeter Grocery store is to be located) in development at the other end of Quarterpath Road, the area would see many changes in the next year or two. "The face of Williamsburg will be changing in this area," she said.

Money Magazine Ranks Williamsburg in Top 5 Places To Live/ Retire | |
September 16, 2006 The magazine rated communities across the country for state taxes, culture and other factors that contribute to the quality of life. The rating for taxes focused on the state, so it didn't even take into account the deferment that seniors get on their homes in the city. "Even without that, we've got one of the lowest tax rates in the state," Tuttle said, at 54 cents per $100. The area has what people want, from lush greenery to tidal waters," Smith added.
