Community Trunk and Treat
Halloween Spooktacular
October 29th from 2PM-6PM

A Trunk or Treat is a Halloween event that is often a community-sponsored social event. People gather and park their cars in a large parking lot. They open their trunks or the backs of their vehicles, decorate and pass out candy from their trunks. The event provides a fun, safe family environment for trick or treaters.

Calling all Goblins, Ghosts, and Creatures of fright
Creep, float or crawl over to the Potomac Club on Saturday night

Sure to be a Spooktacular time
for ALL ages
Residents are encouraged to dress up and have fun!

The DJ will get things started at 2PM playing Halloween hits including the Monster Mash, Thriller, Nightmare on my Street and other popular music.

Calling all Trunkers...register now to reserve your space in the parking lot. Residents are encouraged to decorate their trunks beginning at 2PM. After the halloween parade, the TRUNKERS will hand out candy to the many ghosts, goblins, ghouls and scary monsters.

The parade will begin at the Amphitheater at 3PM, wind around the Potomac club, go around the parking lot and end at the entrance of the Potomac Club where your little ghosts & goblins begin the Trunk and Treat!

• Parking lot will open at 2PM for residents to start decorating their trunks
• DJ will begin playing sounds from Halloween (and more) at 2PM
• Halloween Parade will begin in the Amphitheater at 3PM
• Trunk and Treat will begin at approximately 3:15PM
• Entertainment includes stilt walker, magician, juggling unicyclist, fortune teller / psychic AND fire eater will begin at 3:30PM
• Kettle corn and apple cider will be available

The Loudoun County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously, on Tuesday, to purchase land located at the National Converence Center in Landsdowne to be used for a new high school in Loudon County , currently referred to as "HS-8".

The school will be sited on the 45.61 acre site. The parcel is being purchased from Oxford Capital Group LLC for $20 Million . The school will serve students in the Ashburn and Landsdowne communities and is anticipated to open in the 2015-2016 school year. The terms of purchase allow for a 120 day, due diligence period, which will allow the county to investigate any concerns about the site prior to final purchase.

Following the county's purchase of the site, there will be a public process for the necessary zoning approvals, including a Special Exception, Commission Pemit and Zoning Concept Plan Amendment to allow for the construction of the high school and associated facilities.

The selection of the school site came after a lengthy public process which included many community meetings in approving the acquisition of the land Tuesday. The Board made it clear that there is a desire for continued community involvement during the planning and construction phases for the new school.
