About Lorton's Gunston Manor

Gunston Manor is unlike any other Northern Virginia waterfront community. It was developed in 1929 as a weekend camping retreat. There are no sidewalks. sewers, very limited homeowner's association rules and a blend of newand then and old homes. You'll see cottages with no more than 1,000 square feet of living space overlooking the Potomac River.

The road to Gunston Manor from Route 1 is a two lane, seven mile long road that passes

• George Mason's GUNSTON HALL and the
• MASON NECK WILDLIFE REFUGE.

It is a very relaxing drive, but there is no supermarket - be sure you don't forget the milk. If you want to live closer in you may want to consider another Mason Neck community - HARBOR VIEW - it has boat launching capability to the Occoquan River.
