Spring Hill in Lorton,VA will soon get new condos built! Spring Hill’s location in the South County area -- the fastest growing part of Fairfax County -- has made it popular, and the condos will complement the two and three-bedroom detached homes already available. Pulte, the builder of this vibrant active adult community west of I-95, is advertising condos with starting prices expected at less than $200,000, plus tempting incentives may sweeten the deal.
The ame
nities at Spring Hill read like a resort description, beginning with the state-of-the-art 11,000-square-foot clubhouse. It features an indoor pool, fitness center and billiards and game room. Neighbors can participate in billiards and poker games, and regular community-wide events and special parties in the well-appointed clubhouse.
Spring Hill homeowners enjoy staying in shape using modern weight-training and workout equipment and taking aerobics classes in the fitness center, all just steps away from their front doors. Inside Spring Hill’s aquatic center is an inviting pool for fun and exercise and a whirlpool for soothing muscles and relaxing. Residents can use bocce ball and tennis courts, too.
Spring Hill, a gated community with an entrance off Silverbrook Road and Laurel Crest Drive, benefits from a flurry of recent improvements and thoughtful development in Fairfax’s South County. The Workhouse Arts Center hosts concerts, seasonal events, exhibitions and instruction in fine arts such as painting and ceramics classes. The new and top-ranked 18-hole Laurel Hill Golf Club with a its clubhouse and restaurant is just down the street and is managed by the county. South Run RECenter, a county-run complex with soccer and baseball fields, tennis courts, swings and playgrounds, an indoor pool and a whirlpool is a short ride away and accessible from the Fairfax County Parkway. The area also has plenty of local hiking, biking and nature paths to add to the recreation options at Spring Hill.
Since it’s an active adult community, at least one resident in each home must be 55 years of age or older, and all permanent residents in each home are to be 19 years of age or older. That’s not to say that Spring Hill residents can’t welcome visitors of all ages; they can! In fact, Spring Hill lists tot lots for visiting youngsters as one of the community amenities.

You have to smile when you see it, a big children's playground right behind the community center in the active adult neighborhood of Spring Hill. Is there an expectation of some child like behavior among the homeowners in the community? Forget playing bridge or shuffleboard just hang out on the monkey bars and zip down the slide!
In reality the developers of Spring Hill were smart enough to realize that homeowners in the neighborhood were going to be entertaining their grandchildren or great grandchildren and it would be nice to have a place for them to enjoy themselves without having to drive to another local park to play.
Within the gated neighborhood is a community center with indoor pool, tennis courts and walking paths to the Lorton Arts Center. Even though the neighborhood is still under construction you can tell that the owners are making themselves at home with beautiful gardens and the nice central gazebo area.

Located just minutes from the community of Laurel Hill, Lorton Station, Lorton Market and I-95, the neighborhood is convenient for homeowners who are still working. If you are considering a 55 community where you can still feel young at heart and sneak off to playground then Spring Hill might be the place for you.
If you are interested in taking a tour of Spring Hill give me a call at 703-346-2213. I've already checked out the community for you and can give you the tour from playground, to community center to model homes.

Spring Hill is a community of Over 55 Homes being built on the Laurel Hill section of Lorton Prison land that was released for residential construction by Fairfax County. Title to the land was passed to the county when the prison was closed. They are, of course, one level homes with garages - seniors won't have to climb stairs or scrape ice off windshields. It is a fenced and gated community to maximize security. As the photos show there is a minimum amount of land for the homeowners to maintain, but there are broad open areas adding to the overall appeal.
