Lucketts Store is hard to describe. First thing to say is that it isn't exactly a "store". There is an antique shop, a design house and multiple venues spread out across the grounds. No matter where you look you can find a treasure. Some of the treasures are small pieces of jewlery or maybe a glass knob. Others are larger than a breadbox and might even be the size of a horse.
Built 1910, the house was originally the Lucketts post office, general store and Lucketts family home. Every month the design house features new arrivals set up in venues throughout the house. With cloe to 30 vendors there is a regular turnover of items. The eclectic selection is usually called vintage hip.
Restored in 1996 by the current owner Lucketts Store continues to draw crowds year round. Open 10-5 daily the store is located on Lucketts Rd just north of Leesburg. For anyone coming from DC it's about a 45 minute drive. For those of us who live closer by it's easier to to sneak by on a weekend to see what's new. The next Design House Weekend is April 6, 7 & 8th.

An annual tradition marking the beginning of the end of summer here in Loudoun is The Lucketts Fair. Centered around the historic Old Lucketts School, the fair features many attractions such as pony rides, a petting zoo, live entertainment, live blue grass music, great food and more. Many quality antique and craft vendors are in attendance for your shopping & browsing pleasure. Free rides on the Lucketts Firestation fire trucks are offered and always a lot of fun for the kids! 2011 marks the 39th year of the Fair and the old-fashioned fun keeps the crowds coming back year after year. Funds raised support on-going improvements to the Lucketts Community Center and the surrounding community of Lucketts. The Fair takes place Saturday and Sunday, August 20 & 21, 2011. To get to the Fair, head north on Route 15 from Leesburg and you can't miss it. If you don't get enough shopping and fun at the fair, check out the several antique stores, including the Lucketts Store, just outside the fair grounds.
