The weather has been fantastic and this body surely needs to get back into the swing of things. One of the biggest pleasures I get is biking on the W&OD and ending either at Trail's End Cycling Company in Purcellville or, when time permits, I continue to Leesburg or Ashburn.

Now that summer is ending, we all need to focus on getting back to a more balanced life. I like to take time after work and get on my 15 year old bike, get closer to nature, and improve my health. What better way than heading to the bike trail. I find the best place for me to begin is Hamilton Station Road. By the way, I had a wonderful young man, Ian, who showed me one of the newest cruising bike- Glob Carmel. I will be getting one of those real soon.

parking is easy, just off the road and next to the bike path. I have the choice of going east to Leesburg or west to Purcellville.

Heading to Leesburg isn't quite as busy as it is to Purcellville; I do enjoy seeing friends walking their dogs, children and parents spending time together, and other benefits of living near the small town of Purcellville.

Magnolia's, one of the premier restaurants in Loudoun County, had their outside dining area open which is located along the path. The Jamaican style, steel band music could be heard coming from the patio. My peddling seemed to keep the fun-loving beat going as I approached Trail's End Cycling Company.

I remembered being at a party a few weeks ago where several of my lady friends mentioned the Yogatime Studio located upstairs from the cycling shop. I stopped by to get the schedule for the "hot yoga" classes that everyone keeps talking about here in Purcellville.

LOUDOUN COUNTY VA VINEYARDS - A TOUR AND A TASTE TO REMEMBER.

LOUDOUN COUNTY IS WELL KNOWN FOR OUR EXCELLENT VINEYARDS.

TOURING HOMES FOR SALE IN LOUDOUN COUNTY VIRGINIA. Touring homes in Western Loudoun County this week we are always fascinated by the number of vineyards throughout the area. As you drive through the countryside of Loudoun County, many signs will direct you to vineyards. This area offers rolling hills, farms, estates, horse farms and family homes, primarily on 3 acres or more. Many have a spectacular view of the Blue Ridge Mountain Range.

VISITING VINEYARDS IS ALWAYS FUN. Our tour of homes this week took us to the Breaux Vineyards, in Hillsboro (Purcellville), Virginia. Located just off Route Harpers Ferry Road on Breaux Lane, the Vineyard is only about 35 minutes from Leesburg, 20 minutes from downtown Purcellville and minutes from Harpers Ferry.

Breaux Vineyards is also a winery. For wine lovers, a visit to Breaux Vineyards will be an adventure. Touring Vineyards is popular in Loudoun County which is home to over 25 popular vineyards throughout Loudoun County. However, the Breaux Vineyard is also a Winery.

Wine tasting is a popular past time with visitors to Loudoun County. Wines from the Breaux Vineyards include:

• White Wines Dry: Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier, Madelines Chardonnay, Syrah Rose'
• White Wines Sweet: Jen's Jambalaya, Chere Marie, Soleil

• Specials: Sweet Evangeline, Barrel Select Chardonnay, Jolie Blond

BREAUX VINEYARDSis on about 404 acres with grapes planted in 1985. The soil in Loudoun County is known to grow good grapes for wine making.

The Virginia landscape in Western Loudoun County is peaceful with many farms and small horse properties. To the west will always be the Blue Ridge Mountain Range inviting you to the Shenandoah National Park and one of the most beautiful areas in Virginia.

NOT JUST A VINEYARD. BREAUX IS A WINERY.

The Breaux Vineyards began producing commercial wine and in 1997 opened the vineyard to the public. Winner of many national and international awards, the vineyard now has over 85 acres under cultivation. A visit to Breaux Vineyards will be a true pleasure.

LOUDOUN COUNTY VA FARMS. BUFFALO AT HOME ON THE RANGE.

Living in Western Loudoun County Virginia is always an adventure. Driving through the Western Loudoun County countryside is an adventure. There are frequent sightings of the native Deer, Turkey, Buzzard, Hawk, Groundhog, Fox, Turtle, Snake, Rabbit, Squirrel. . . . .

From time to time, I'm surprised by something different and new. This week while driving a back road from Lovettsville to Hillsboro (Purcellville) to my gunsmith's shop, I spotted a small heard of Buffalo in a field. Yes, Buffalo. These are not the huge Buffalo I've seen in Yellowstone Park, but they are Buffalo.

A bit of research later, I find that there are other Buffalo herds in Loudoun County and, from time to time, they stray. Since these magnificent animals are quite large, when compared to Beef Cattle, caution should be the rule if they are spotted on the loose. They can be up to 2,500 pounds. That's a lot of Buffalo meat.
