Triangle / Quantico Virginia, A Hidden Real Estate Treasure

Melissa Pickham search Stafford Real Estate, Prince William County Realtor: Real Estate Agent in Woodbridge, VA

Quantico Real Estate is ideal for those working on or near Quantico Marine Corps Base. Marine Corps Museum Virginia

I always get a chuckle when I tell people where I live. I live in Triangle Virginia which is directly beside Quantico Marine Corps Base, and is prime Quantico Real Estate. I find that NO ONE knows where Triangle is, even people that have lived in Virginia their entire lives. Triangle is nestled up beside Quantico Marine Base between Stafford and Dumfries. Triangle is the home of established residential single family, and townhome communities as well as several communities currently under construction.

Triangle and Quantico Real Estate is a neccesity as Quantico has 1000's of people coming through each year. As anyone who has lived in Northern Virginia or even visited can appreciate the importance of living close to where you work. The traffic in Northern Virginia is unreal(and not in a good way). The ability to have Quantico Real Estate versus some other location would greatly improve the quality of life of everyone who works on or near Quantico Marine Corps Base. It is easy to drive right past Triangle and not even realize that there are hidden communities awaiting new home owners. There are brand new homes being built as you read this and homes on the market ready to get swooped up by the savvy buyer. My favorite part of these communities is that many home sites back to Quantico Marine Base and we will always face wooded Quantico territory and not have to look into our neighbors backyard when we look out of our windows. The ability to look at trees and deer regularly instead of other homes is a beautiful thing. I would be happy to show anyone interested in all of the hidden treasures that Triangle and Quantico real estate have to offer.

We Celebrated Their 236th Birthday With US Marines

Karen Kruschka - Prince William, Fairfax ,Stafford County VA Real Estate Service: Real Estate Agent in Woodbridge, VA
My husband is a former Marine having served during WWII. His service included
  • Fourth Anti-Aircraft Battalion on Guadalcanal
  • Sixth Marine Division Guam
  • Sixth Marine Division Okinawa
  • Sixth Marine Division Tsingtao, China for 9 months after the war ended
Like all Marines, he believes "Once A Marine Always A Marine". The National Museum of The Marine Corps in Prince William County is one of his favorite haunts.

Today, we attended the 236th birthday celebration at the museum. The oldest and youngest Marine in attendance participate in the ceremony. Arthur was only the second oldest in attendance. The oldest Marine had fought on Iwo Jima, the bloodiest battle in the history of the Corps.

We hope you enjoy the ceremony. It starts with The Marines Hymn and ends with Auld Lang Syne. The narration is by a museum staffer.

Happy Birthday USMC-Standing Proud For 236 Years

Cindy Jones-Northern Virginia Real Estate & Military Relocation Services: Real Estate Agent in Woodbridge, VA

Today is the 236th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. If you ask any Marine they will tell you without hesitation November 10, 1775 is the date of the founding of the United States Marine Corps.

My father-in-law served in WWI, WWII and the Korean War. He would be 107 if he was still alive today.
He landed on the shores of Okinawa as part of the First Marine Infantry Division. Once of the bloodiest battles of the war. Though he never spoke much of his service to our country he rose through the ranks from a Private to a Lt. Col before retiring.

When my husband (USAF) received orders to report to Kadena AB in Okinawa my father-in-law was visible shaken. His only memories of the island were the year he spent in battle. He would never make the trip to visit us in Okinawa and we understood why.

Thank you to all of the US Marine's who have served our country so valiantly and who continue to serve today.

Happy Birthday

Listen To The Train Whistle In These Prince William County Communities

Cindy Jones-Northern Virginia Real Estate & Military Relocation Services: Real Estate Agent in Woodbridge, VA

We have all read the stories of how the railroad opened up development throughout the United States and changed the face of our young nation. When transportation officials and developers began planning the Virginia Rail Express (VRE) along the I-95 corridor in 1992 there were concerns as to whether the lack of housing near the train stations would derail the long term plans for a commuter trail. Just like the Wild West the train brought a new supply of "whistle stop" towns close to the eastern run of the tracks including Belmont Bay, Rippon Landing and Quantico.

The Woodbridge Station sits just at the edge of Belmont Bay and is within a mile of the marina that is the jewel of the community. Still growing Belmont Bay offers buyers the chance to live in a community that includes a marina, the public Osprey Golf Course and waterfront walking paths. Neighboring a 400 acre nature reserve residents have a chance to not only enjoy the community but watch Osprey's soar and fox run. With waterfront condos, townhouses, golf villas and detached homes residents enjoy a resort style lifestyle all year long.

Only a few miles south of Belmont Bay you hit the Rippon Landing station. When you get off the train you can look up the hill and see the new Potomac Pointe condos. What you don't notice until you top the hill is that the condos enjoy a stunning view of the Potomac River. The lot is general full with commuters who come in from Port Potomac or Eagles Pointe. The station is also within walking distance to townhouse owners at Riverside Station or the detached homes in Dawson's Landing.

The last station in Prince William County is the Quantico Station. Located within the gates of Quantico Marine Base commuters must drive in to the base in order to get to the station. However that doesn't seem to stop anyone who wants to grab a cup of coffee at the Whistlestop Coffee Shop before boarding the train. New developments including Cramer's Ridge, Lionsfield Valley and the Reserve at Potomac Crest have increased the popularity of the Quantico Station and it is a great chance for active duty military who need to make a morning run to the Pentagon a chance to grab the train and transfer to the metro in Springfield.

The development of the new whistle stop communities on the eastern portion of the VRE are part of the master plans for the Northern Virginia Counties of Stafford, Prince William and Fairfax. With ridership continuing to grow the plans to create more walkable communities on the right side of the tracks in has become a reality. The western stops on the VRE have also spanned huge developements as well.

If you are interested in finding a home within walking distance of a VRE station give the Cindy Jones and CJ Realty Group a call at 703-346-2213. Let us give you you the whistle stop tour of Prince William County.
