About South's Shirlington

A happy first time homebuyer!

Coral Gundlach: Real Estate Agent in Arlington, VA

First time home buyers are one of my favorite aspects of this business. It is so very empowering to buy your first place. I find that people often buy that first place when a landlord abruptly tells them they are either moving back in or selling their place. That feeling that you don't control your own destiny drives people to buy and makes them very grateful to be a homeowner.

I recently worked with a very fulfilling first time homebuyer, she was referred to me by a very good friend mutual friend of ours, and she had quite specific needs.

She's a wedding and portrait photographer (an extremely talented one by the way) and needed a place that allowed her to have a home office that is separate from her living space. We found the perfect place in about a week or so - a lovely 2 level Fairlington Barcroft model with a basement with a separate entrance and a whopping 1400 square feet! It's a beautiful place and suits her needs, and budget, perfectly.

She wrote this wonderful review for me on Zillow, and I got to visit her this week shortly after she moved in. What a happy home owner!

She spoke gleefully about the new skills she's aquired with small home projects and the frequent trips to Home Depot - every homeowner's right of passage.

I am grateful to her for all she's done for me by being such a great buyer and for allowing me to blog about her and for the beautiful Zillow review.

Experiences like this make me so grateful to sell houses for a living!

The last office building planned for Shirlington is almost complete. Randolph Square will have over 200,000 square feet of office space, retail stores and a nice new parking garage to add some much needed parking.
The exciting news is that this shiny new building now has a bright new tenant: The US Patent Office.
The building is scheduled to open in April- just in time for the spring and bring with it the US Government.
Welcome to the neighborhood – you’re going to be here for the next 10 years. I hope you enjoy our little secret.
10 017My last picture was taken when the weather was warmer– I’m such a whimp in this cold weather. It’s much further along now. I’m just too cold to stand outside to take some pictures.
And many thanks to one of my favorite local blogs: Shirlington Village Blog for being the first with the scoop.
