Location, location, location.
That seems to be one of the biggest attractions of The Reserve at Tarleton Oaks, a newer condominium complex in Virginia Beach.
The community of 148 homes was constructed in 2002 on Kempsville Road next to City View Park.
The area is right at the city's border with Chesapeake and is sandwiched between Greenbrier and Kempsville. Just a few miles away is Greenbrier Mall and the numerous other retail stores, restaurants, banks and grocery stores of the Greenbrier area. Interchanges leading to several of the area's highways are also just a few miles away.
People wanted to be in that area and that is why the Dragas Companies of Virginia Beach decided to develope the site. With resale homes selling briskly, it seems buyers still want to be in the area.
The site opened in June 2002 There are 37 buildings. Each building has four, two-story homes and each home is an end unit.
There are two models available at The Reserve. Both have two bedrooms and 2½ baths, a fireplace, fenced-in patio and consist of about 1,400 square feet. One of the models also has an upstairs den/office. About the only choice for buyers was to choose the flooring and the appliances.
The Reserve was constructed adjacent to The Gables of Tarleton Oaks, another community of slightly larger condominiums also developed by The Dragas Companies. There are two pools on the shared property and three acres of lakes.
Homeowners also pay a monthly condominium fee, which includes landscaping and pool maintenance, water, sewer and trash fees and homeowners' insurance, which covers all but the contents of the home.
Each unit also has Cable 5 wiring, which allows for the most up-to-date computer, telephone and satellite television systems to be installed.
The fact that the units are two-story and have no homes located above them makes these condos very desirable.
As there are only two shared heavily insulated walls in each house you shouldn't be hearing anything from your neighbor's house.
